"SkiDo" - Vail CO - Weekend of March 12th, 2004 (non-skiers welcome too)

Ok, the votes are in & the FT "SkiDo" is scheduled for Vail, Colorado, the weekend of March 12th, 2004.

So - now I need to hear from FTers on whether they're coming or strongly considering coming, so I can contact hotels etc & see about getting us a group rate; most ski resorts don't have multiple hotel 'chains' (although Marriott is in Vail & Hyatt in Beaver Creek), so will look at hotels & condos.

I'm assuming everyone will sort out the air & fly their favorite airline via paid or award. I'll also see if there's such a thing as group rate on the lift tickets and discounts on lessons (for those that might want to take lessons).

And if you don't ski but snowboard, ice skate, snowshoe, walk through nature, or just like to shop, eat, drink, spa, you're welcome to join us.

Presumably we'd meet up in the evenings for apres-ski, dinner, drinks, dancing, etc (I'll sort out that kind of stuff too, as Do gets closer). And if I recall the SkiDo voting thread, Randy offered to buy margaritas in Minturn

So - please post here if you're a definite or strongly considering it. I know that folk will continue to post as it gets closer, but need to come up w/ an approximate head count to figure out group rates etc.

Also, Vail will be "base" for the SkiDo, but for those who want to ski Beaver Creek, it's easy to run over there for the day.

I'm in. Also, I'll host an "official" lodge. I'll get a condo that sleeps 6 plus the living room couch and those with needs can come and go as they please.

Should be fun and remember, Corona and margarita's on me down the valley in Minturn for apres-ski and mexican food.

If the 12th wasn't my father's birthday, I'd be there even though I don't like snow and don't ski! But I'm still a maybe for flying out the morning of the 13th if fares to go to Spring Training the following weekend in Phoenix stay too expensive.

I know that I had said that I could not make it for sure however, I love to ski. That was going to be my second choice as a job, ski bumb.

I still have a few things to work out. Price/Vacation Time Request/shifting a few odd and end aroud, will be able to confirm one way or the other in a few weeks.

Please list me as "strongly considering" depending on airfare & hotel/condo possibilities.
I also would arrive Mar 11, with departure on the 14th.

I will go with the car to WY that week, so depending on price I will come down on the weekend (again, College student-budget).

I haven't decided if I'm doing the 11th-14th or 11th-15th. Depends on rates/fares.

Haven't got the ability to "commit" this early, but it sounds like a LOT of fun, and I hope that I can get it pulled together!!

Best wishes, Dave
