Christmas Eve Flights
Who else is flying on Christmas Eve? I am on UA Flight #5 JFK - SFO 11:30 am - 2:42 pm, continuing onto UA Flight #71 SFO - LAS 4:15 pm - 5:40 pm...

I am also flying into Las Vegas on Christmas eve. Let me know if you'd like to meet for dinner or a drink.

I've got 1 United Express and 2 United mainline flights on Xmas Eve. This will be the first year I haven't flown on Xmas Day in years.
Hoping for no weather delays. But then again, who doesn't. |

Joh and I are flying December 24 Business Class on Varig from Sao Paulo Brazil to La Paz Bolivia.
El Alto airport there is the world's highest I understand - 13,313 feet. Some photos of the treeless region are here. La Paz city is at 11,972 feet (3650m) above sea level - the world's highest large city - for Christmas Day. Flying in from sea level is not a bright idea – last time there I came down with raging altitude sickness for 3 days! Then a trip across Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake at 12,506ft to visit the Uros Indians on reed islands. Then to Cuzco for NYE (2nd time I've done that!) and later a 3rd visit to Macchu Picchu "The Lost City Of The Incas". My first time flying during the Christmas holiday, too. Usually fly during Thanksgiving and stay home for Christmas, swapped it around this year. |
