Yeehaw... add I012609 and JSD to the list!

We're arriving 18th July 14:35 on LH130 FRA-DUS and departing 20th July 14:20 on LH3 DUS-FRA. Looking forward to a fun 48 hrs in DUS!

For those who are interested, there was still lots of award availability in LH and UA First across the pond - I found availability out of JFK, IAD, BOS and ORD. Regrettably, SQ25 JFK-FRA was not available. I don't think SQ is *really* a Star partner.

Where's everyone staying?

Welcome aboard JSD and IO12609. Look forward to seeing you y'alls again.

As Bernie and others have noted above, the Nikko is pretty much FT ground zero for the weekend. I can vouch for the veracity of Bernie's suggestion. It's a terrific property, has great amenities and the AA miles post promptly. (Not to mention being in an unbeatable location.) The rates Bernie negotiated for us are excellent. You will not be disappointed.

I will be arriving on LH 40 on 18 July (Sat) at 5:25PM. I will be leaving on LH 185 on 21 July at 11:15AM (Monday). I will be going to Bernie's party. Had no problem getting my dates on LH FC award ticket from Los Angeles.

Edited to change outbound date.

bernie, thank you for arranging the hotel discount. I just sent an email to Miss Ventz to inquire about a reservation and cc:d you in case you are keeping track of such things.

Bernie,
please put me down as a maybe. It's too early for me to plan, but I'll probably be running around in Europe somewhere this summer...

Welcome to all new participants and a friendly reminder to all others (definite or maybe) to pleeeeaaaase help me organizing this event by ... just answering my email (dating Jan 7th). As some of you might expect (suspect ? ) I'd like to make this DUS III as memorable and enjoyable as I and II, butI'll be out of the country for some 8 weeks total before that event, so I depend on your cooperation to do so.

BTW The Nikko wanted to hold the rooms for 4 weeks - end would be around Feb 10th.

I might attend the meeting as well. Will write you a mail. I might be at the British Open on that weekend!

Bernie, we will again rent a car from AMS. (Anyone need a lift?) Do you know if the Nikko rate includes parking, or what extra that would be?

Oz no - it is not included in the rate. Website says "public parking cahrges apply", which would be 10 - 15 € / day.

Stupid question

How do you put the .. [(double dots)I don't know the real name] over the u in Dusseldorf? Also the enya (sp) over n's in Spanish words?

Sorry for the lame question.

For us with german/austrian/swiss etc. keyboards it is easy, for all others, here are some umlaute for copy-and-paste:

ö
ä
ü

Ö
Ä
Ü

You can also put those characters in by holding down the [i]Alt[i] key on your keyboard and punching in the respective numbers on the numerical pad of your keyboard (with num lock enabled)

German
ä = ALT+132
ë = ALT+137
ï = ALT+139
ö = ALT+148
ü = ALT+129
ß = ALT+225

Nordic Languages
å = ALT+134
æ = ALT+401

Spanish
á = ALT+160
é = ALT+130
í = ALT+161
ó = ALT+162
ú = ALT+163
ñ = ALT+164
¿ = ALT+168
¡ = ALT+173
