I've got a 7+ hour layover at LAX on Thurs Jan 3rd, arriving around 4:15pm & departing 11:30pm.
Hoping some other FTers will be up for meeting up for dinner &/or drinks near LAX.
Any ideas? NOT interested in In N Out.

For reasons that I shared with you privately, I will not know if I can make it until the last minute.
In the meantime, here are lists from sources that I trust and a couple of suggestions from the LA Times annual list (which may be behind a paywall):
Eater LAThe Infatuation (a few of their recommendations are too far and some overlap Eater LA's)Los Angeles Times - 101 Restaurants We Love

Proud Bird on Aviation Blvd (at the 25L threshold) — nothing spectacular in terms of food or beverage, but great for aviation geeks (also generally fairly uncrowded); unfortunately it’ll be dark by ~1700, so you won’t be able to see most of the static display warbirds
Playa Provisions in Playa del Rey — owner/operator is a Top Chef winner; synergistic and her SO and I had a great time at one of their feature “Flights and Bites” a year or so ago

FWIW, just last month we had an overnight in El Segundo and ordered delivery from Petit Cafe. Typical gyro joint with outstanding food, large portions and very reasonable prices.
There's also PF Chang's in TBIT...the $30 pp Priority Pass allowance goes a long way to mitigate the Panda Express ++ quality

Go South. Recommend you look into going to "The Point" near the intersection of PCH and Rosecrans Avenue. Excellent dining options here. Conveniently located, safe, and relaxed.
Avoid Gjusta.

Proud Bird for location. Also, Ayara Thai cuisine and Pacos Tacos are pretty close to the airport and very good .

I'm due back into LA mid afternoon on the 3rd so should be able to make it.
I'll keep checking back here for the location.
Please put me down as a strong possible!

Hey Willie,
Would love to attend and see you again, but we are flying into SAN on the 3rd getting in almost 5pm so won' be able to make it with traffic and by the time I stop home. Tell Flying Machine to buy you a drink on me. Till next time.
Dave

Big thanks to all that have provided suggestions!
I'm one of those that just doesn't seem to appreciate In N Out
BTW, going to be in Yogyakarta on Jan 19 & 20, is that close to you?
