Baseball Fans - Let's Do a Do

As an excuse for mileage run(s) on NW, I would be interested in seeing some games this summer.

I have no firm plans, just an idea, albeit probably not a new one.

Is there any interest in getting together? My preference would be on a Friday or Saturday, and I am planning on hitting Fenway and Da Bronx. Other stadium ideas welcomed.

One of the SeaDoo events is the M's vs Angels on Friday Sept 12th. I still have two tickets if you're interested.

The parks I´m looking at hitting this year are Denver, Cleveland, Philly, Cincy and San Diego. Everywhere else I´ve either already been to or not terribly interested in seeing.

Missy, thanks for the invite!

[rant]No offense, but I went to a Mariners spring training game in Surprise (vs. KC), and based on how the FOP's (that's "seniors" or "oldsters" or "old bats" or even "old b*stards" to you non-Sunbelters) treated my kids and behaved, I'll never be attending another M's game. Ever. It's a long story, but trust me when I say M's fans (except you, of course) are on a par with Raiders fans for class. Or lack thereof. I rarely get tempted to beat up old men, but I was sorely wantin' to put a whuppin' on a whole section of 'em. Grumpy old b*stards. And I contribute to their social security and medicare. Ungrateful mother...Whooops![/rant]

Sorry, but yes I do feel better!

Let's just hope the Mariners never play the D-backs in the WS!

I'd like to hit the older parks, while they're still here. I'm a little late for PHL, PIT, and CVG, I know.

You still got one season before they tear down the Vet.

That is, if it doesn't collapse before then... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Missydarlin, is the Yankee Stadium pretzel petrified yet? (Derek was asking.)

Mark,

If WA doesn't like M's fans, how fast do you think the Philly fans will eat him alive?

CLE ticket sales WAY below previous years'. Opening day still not sold out. All weekday games are night games http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif.

If you can't get cheap fares itno CLE remember to look at CAK.

I was in CLE during baseball season last year and lotsa places were giving away tickets -- still no takers. I had tickets to several games (free tix) and didn't go -- didn't have the time. I wouldn't worry about CLE games this year.

Valid point, but at least I'm expecting it. Philly fans' reputation is legendary, some might view it as part of the entertainment at the Vet.

On the other hand, you'd think Seattle fans might be nice, considering the progressive (?) city they come from.

Actually it's more a function of age. Many FOP's forget they were once kids, or they ever had kids. Many of them are just mean old b*stards.

I agree.

I don't think you should hold all M's fans responsible for the actions of a few sunbaked FOP's. Most of us are pretty cool..AND we serve sushi at our stadium (not to mention awesome garlic fries)!

The following games are of interest to me:

I wont make all of the following games but these are Dodger games I'm considering:

April 25-27 @PIT
May 9-11 @ MON (final season in MTL?)
May 23-25 @MKE
Jun 13-15 @CLE
July 4-6 @AZ
July 29-31 @PHL
Aug 1-3 @ATL
Aug 15-17 @CHC

After August; Its College football season!!!

We serve up a nice World Championship Trophy at the BOB.

D'Oh!!

Sorry, but glory is so fleeting, we gotta brag a little.

p.s. Actually not any more, it's, umm, in Anaheim, but hey, we got pictures of it!!

Missy, I just noticed your ticket offer is the same weekend as the Reno Air Races, which with any luck I will be at this year. Thanks anyway!

From this month's Amex statement, Centurion members can buy Dugout Club seats at Dodger stadium this year. These are the best seats in the major leagues. Closer to the batters box than the pitcher. Free buffet and parking included.

But any baseball pilgrimage must include Wrigley Field. I get there at least once per year.
