FlyerTalk Addictive?

I've just started using this site, and I think I'm becoming addicted to it! As anyone else felt this?

Some of us have been addicted for years. My spouse tried to start an "Abandoned FT Spouse Support Group" in 1998 and in 1999 ended up getting addicted himself.

There are worse addictions, so I am told. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Not necessarily less expensive.

Not only is FT itself addictive, but it spawns further addictive behaviors like mileage runs ! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Since finding this community 9 months ago, I have taken 4 mileage runs.

Since finding FT, I've met cool places and took a MR to Wichita. Wichita!!

This is addiction central.

Milage run? What is a milage run? Denver domestic traveler does not a milage runner make. How about segment run. That would be me.

Good grief, is there a 12 STEP PROGRAM for FlyerTalk? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Addictive? Nah. Why else would I fly DFW-ELP via ORD?

fredmartens Feb 28, 2003 10:12 pm

And I thought owning your own plane was expensive...

Wait until you start going to internet cafes on foreign trips, just to check the Mileage Run category to make sure you're not missing out on a bargain somewhere (or have your laptop along on domestic trips for the same reason). Addictive? Yes. Rewarding? Without a doubt.

Hope you're able to meet some of the FT'ers at an event, or airport, near you. There are some wonderful people on this board always willing to help others out.

at least most FTers are honest.
Gaucho should start a new Omni Thread:
What are you addicted to ?
My reply (ordered by priority from high to low): Pursuit of my career goals, Golf, Travel, FT, all sports, fine dining, reading,...

dhammer53 Mar 1, 2003 12:24 pm

adrian,

I'm about to give you some good/bad advice.

Never log back onto this site. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Now that I've said that, Flyertalk is NOT addictive. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif

No, really. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

But if you want to be looked upon with envy by your friends and relatives ...(a variety of stories come to mind...$27 fare SFO to CDG, $20 BA fare, $25 W Times Sq, and the list goes on and on. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Maybe we should start a thread about the 'best' deal you ever got because of Flyertalk.

Did I say I'm not addicted.

And don't forget Flyertalk get togethers.
They're not addictive either.

Welcome
Dan
