Anyone for getting a group of FTer's together in Sydney? I'll be staying downtown (Avillion) and would love to meet some fellow FTers.
My first trip to OZ so have no idea on a good place to meet. Open to suggestions and times.

I am there as well, although i don't get into SYD until the 26th (in MEL before then). Staying at the Sheraton on the Park. Like you I do not know the city, but would be willing to meet for a pint.

why don't we have a FT dinner somewhere close to town? ill be back in Sydney and i'm sure we can muster up a few local sydney FT'ers to come along!

In order to catch both of you, i'd suggest between the 26-28 Feb?

Sounds good to me. This is my first trip to OZ so I know nothing of the area or restaurants. I'll be using public transportation so not to far off the beaten path would be helpful. Let's limit our choice of days to Feb 26 - 28 and dinner sounds great.

I likewise know nothing about the town so will require some guidance as to where to go. All I know so far is my flights and which hotel I am staying at (can you tell I never arranged this trip?)

Will be there but have lot's of commitments already. Perhaps a pre dinner drink.

Where are all the Syd FT'ers??

Is there any type of food/preference people prefer?? a-la carte or all you can eat?

I am vegetarian, so that may limit things. Also I leave this Thu (the 20th) and will not have access to the Internet before the 27th, so if nothing is concrete before I board my plane for VIE, then I might be bypassing (unless I find a decent Internet cafe).

I'll eat most anything as long as it's good. There will be two of us.

dont most restaurants cater for vegetarians these days?

mapleleaf, here is the time/location, i think the avillion hotel is in a good area in order to start and work out where to go, from there we are located close to chinatown, darling harbour, the city and darlinghurst.

You are about a 10 min walk maximum from the Sheraton on the Park to the Avillion.

So here we go, let's meet at 6:30pm, Thursday, 27th February, outside the lobby entrance on PITT STREET (near the doors) of the Avillion Hotel:

For dinner, we'll decide shortly, but we'll see you at the lobby of the avillion. If you'd prefer, I can meet you outside your hotel at about 6:15pm at the lobby doors and we can walk down to the avillion... i will need to walk past there on the way down to the avillion anyway.. i'll make sure i have a flyertalk sticker on my shirt... tell me what'd ud prefer to do on here.
