Upgrading on Award Ticket Seats?
 
I'm flying NY-Hawaii this year end on a AA award ticket. This is a long way to fly in Economy.

Does anyone know how to get an upgrade on an award seat?

Welcome to Flyertalk, flychic! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif First, to answer your question, as Jan said, the only way to "upgrade" an award ticket is to spend more miles for the F ticket instead of the Y ticket (60K miles instead of 35K miles). You can't upgrade an award ticket with 500 milers, VIPOWs or any other upgrade certs.

Also, in the future, you may find it better to post AA-specific questions in the AA forum, located a little further down the page from FT Community.
