Chicago Electric Blues DO 1/24/19; Buddy Guy’s Legends; he is performing
At the LEX DO, some of us were talking about having a Chicago Blues DO someday. Classic Chicago electric blues is fantastic in person.
I got got an email recently with information about the usual January residence of the 7-time Grammy winner Buddy Guy at his club, located on Wabash behind the Chicago Hilton and Towers (720 South Michigan).
Have settled on 1/24/19, Thursday for the DO.
Probably will have to get there around 4 pm to guarantee seats and not stand all night. They have Louisiana food plus things like salads and burgers and chicken fingers. Decent, not spectacular food IMO.
Doors open 11AM / Acoustic set 4PM / Opener 7:30PM / Buddy Guy 9PM

I am also interested in attending; that is right before my birthday, so it might work well to attend this and then start my international jaunt.

I may be interested some year, but I'm already a bit busy this January (including an event during the currently preferred weekend). I will keep an eye on this thread, but for now mark me down as unlikely.

Would like to adjust my travel changes soon from Singapore. Do you think there will be a Do? If so, which night (should I plan on departing Chicago on Sunday or Monday)? Thanks.

That works for me. I don't even need to change my schedule. My flight arrives at 8 am with an overnight stay and out the next day.

OK, no one has objected to 1/24 or suggested an alternative, so let’s confirm.
