Alaska Information
I am looking for some information on travel to Alaska. Specifically, wondering what the roads are like from Anchorage-Denali NP and Anchorage-Seward. From maps I can gather that these aren't interstates, but what is the quality of the road. Also, what is road traffic like about the middle of August.
I am also interested in hearing about any tips fellow Flyertalkers would like to share about Anchorage, Denali NP and Seward specific to hotels, B&Bs, restaurants, attractions etc. I am going to be in Anchorage for two days and I am trying to decide what to do. Many thanks to all who reply! |
Andrew,
You may want to post your message in the Alaska section of FT Travel. William |
Thanks, I have done so now as well. But that forum doesn't seem to be the most popular, so I hope I get some replies at one of them.

You'll find excellent divided highways heading out of Anchorage to the north and south, soon turning into quality, paved, two-lane highways all the way to Denali and Seward. Be patient. Traffic often causes "parades" on the two-lane sections where curves make passing difficult. And watch out for the moose! The destinations are worth the drives.

We'll let your other post speak for advice. We try and keep double posting to a minimum. Thanks for understanding.
