Maybe the Technical Issues forum would be a good place to ask?

FewMiles..

You know you're addicted to FT when you try reloading the page so often when the website is down that it looks like you're hitting it with a denial of service attack. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

Yep, been a long and horrible weekend. I filled the gaps by phoning airlines and doing complex things with my itineries. Oh, yeah I also spent time with my gf (It got that bad!) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Good to be back!

I thought that some folks were going to have to attend a "12 Steps" program because of their withdrawl! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Based on how many times I tried to get into FT over the weekend, a 12 step program will be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long for me!!!

Yikes, I'm starting to dread weekends.

I assume that no one works the weekends at FT Central as the past few weekends that the system has been down on a Saturday it contiues to stay down until Monday morning.

Well, I guess that they need their time off too, but what about our needs !! eh ?

The problem is nobody ever explains anything, just like sitting on an airplane or at the gate, waiting for details on a delay. It would have been nice to have an explanation posted on the Tech Forum explaining why the shut down, and the reasons for the very slow performance over much of the weekend when FT was up.

ozstamps Jul 22, 2002 10:46 am

I understand this last outage was actually less than 24 hours, not the 'weekend'? I will not however be asking for a pro-rata refund of my expensive FT subscription. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

If a server hassle happens after business hours as in the most recent case, I guess there is sadly not much can be easily done to rectify it? Glad to see it was blazing soon into the business morning today.

But do agree with shareholder a short note covering the outage in Tech Forum etc might be used after things are normalised?
