Makers 46 Mile event

FYI.....

Friday, April 12, we’ll celebrate the 23rd running of the Maker’s 46 Mile with our friends and longtime partners at Keeneland Race Course, and we invite you to join us at this legendary event.

As a special perk, Keeneland is offering an Ambassador-only ticket pre-sale for both the exclusive Ambassador area of the Keeneland Grandstand and Keeneland’s Phoenix or Lexington/Kentucky dining rooms.

Tickets for the Ambassador-only Grandstand seats will go on sale January 15 at 8:30 a.m. EST and close on January 28 at noon EST. Due to the limited seating available in the Phoenix and Lexington/Kentucky dining rooms, Keeneland will be conducting an Ambassador-exclusive random selection process for tickets to these areas.

Applications for dining-room seats will also begin at 8:30 a.m. on January 15 and close on January 22 at noon EST. Those selected for ticket purchase eligibility will be notified by January 24.

Please consider me likely. As usual, I won't be able to confirm until we get closer to the actual date, but I'm feeling good about being able to make it.

OP is updated.

I have reserved the Hyatt Regency downtown for April 11-15 for myself. . As I said above, I am Globalist. If I reserve for you with points, you inherit my status. So that's free buffet breakfast, possible (very unlikely) suite upgrade. I put "4 people in my room," so maybe I will get 4 buffet vouchers. I think strictly by the terms of the program I am supposed to get 2 adults/2 child, but they have been generous to me in the past.

HYATT REGENCY LEXINGTON
401 West High Street
Lexington, Kentucky, USA, 40507
Tel: +1 859 253 1234

Hyatt category 2. 8000 points. Can go OVER $300 all-in for cash at this time for full rooms (4 people) on weekend nights. But I noticed a trick. If you stay over Sunday night, the proceeding nights drop by about $110 each at those rates. So play around if you are looking to pay cash. 4-night stay is $162 plus tax for 2 as of 1/23/19.

Free parking. Very nice buffet, including best biscuits/gravy I have ever had at a standard hotel. Full-service Hilton is across the street. Other hotels not far. Walking distance to plenty of restaurants/bars.

And the Hyatt bar has a bourbon slushy machine!

A high school friend is part owner of Lexington’s oldest bar.

He might be able to set up a special bourbon tasting for us. If interested, please post so we can try to plan numbers and date/time.

I'm in, especially if the tasting is Sunday after Stella's. I won't be in town until late Friday, so if you choose to go before then I will have to pass.

New cider and beer operations coming to the reinvigorated Manchester District.

https://www.kentucky.com/living/food...217735025.html

This is where Barrel House Distilling (and its bourbon bar), Ethereal Brewing, Crank and Boom Ice Cream, Pepper Distillery, and the pizza place are located. Not a bad place to spend a few hours.

Pizza, ice cream, beer, and bourbon. The classic four food groups.

Sadly, sans wife. But, fortunately, I should have no last-minute work obligations to preclude my attendance.
