Look at Tahiti - very cheap there - but you have to know where to go for the best deals on hotel.

Canada might be worth considering.

New Zealand.

Do you like to write? Do you have a novel or screenplay bouncing around your head?

Writing while traveling is great. Who knows? It may give you some income down the road.

What do you want to do? Look at is this way, instead of being laid off - assume you had all the money in the world. What would you do? How would you spend your time?

If you're interested in writing - I can provide a tip or two on getting started.

Good Luck.

Been out since September....the miles are invaluable for clearing of the head.

Also for job hunting--I mightily impressed a HR person today who invited me tomorrow to Denver to meet the hiring VP "but only between 12 and 2"--he's from HQ in Boston...called her back in 20 minutes for directions!

Thanks UA--25k miles well spent.
