NY state ID card question
So, Im finally getting around to getting my NY drivers license. As a first step, I got a non-drivers ID. I did all the paperwork and got a temporary ID until the final one is mailed to me.
Im now wondering what my ID number is... I need it to open a bank account and I have a couple of numbers on the temp ID. Does anybody know how many digits a NY state ID number is supposed to have? Just as some additional info, there is one number that is pre-printed on the paper (ie. not computer printed), that number is an 8 character number - 2 letters 6 numbers. Then there are two other numbers, a nine digit number (no alphanumerics), and another very long string of letters and numbers... Help!! Thanks... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif ------------------ Gaucho100K |
My NY license is 3 sets of 3 digits.

The only thing I can recommend is to take it into a bank (even if it's not the one you are going to ultimately use) and ask them. They should know. Or check out www.CounterfeitLibrary.com, the counterfeiters there should also know! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

On my State ID card, the ID number is the number directly under "Interim ID Card."

Gaucho,
the temporary number is the same as your final ID number, and also should be the same as your DL number when you get it. |

A New York State DL is 9 digits. I think my current license is the third since they went to the 9 digit system, and I can't remember the number for the life of me. OTOH, the previous 1 letter & 18 digit number I can still remember just fine! Go figure.
