I 'heard' from his 'father' that kokonutz is still around, 'changing' colours like a chameleon ...

I found Kokonutz! He now lives in Leesburg, VA and has a mullet haircut. He drives a rusted Chevy pickup truck and takes mileage runs on Southwest Airlines.
