Rabid Community

That's us!

The WSJ's recent Internet supplement had an article on the best way to reduce airport waiting time. A sidebar introduced FT as:

"Rabid frequent fliers populate this site, where bonus miles, Web pricing glitches, customer-service fiascoes and bargain fares inspire thousands of postings each month."

Well, if the shoe fits.....

Jim (wipes froth from mouth, prepares to board plane; how on earth will I get past security this way?)

Well, Merrian Webster defines rabid as, "going to extreme lengths in expressing or pursuing a feeling, interest,..." So heck if the shoe fits...

Just out of curiosity, who wrote that article

Jane Costello.

She also wrote another one on November 14 that referred to a "seasoned traveler" software consultant who commutes between Newark and Seattle.

Let's see, is that the article that begins:

Chexfan is a seasoned traveler, but he no longer knows what to expect when he gets to the airport.

A software consultant from Seattle, Mr. chexfan has logged 145,000 miles this year, largely due to weekly commutes to Newark, N.J. On a typical day prior to Sept. 11, the elite-level frequent flier on United Airlines would check in at the airport club, breeze through security and hop onto the plane.

But that was then.

(It's surprising how often I recognize someone's name in the WSJ, now that I read FT!)

Well, she didn't say "well seasoned", so I wasn't quite sure.
