To me a meeting is more than 5 people at least. So far I have done the Catman Do 3 and the Vancouver thing in May. Both very nice. I am doing the PiP 2001 in November also. I've met FlyerTalkers seperately on numerous occasions but that does not count as a meeting, does it?

ChanelCinq Jul 28, 2001 11:17 am

I have been to 4 FT gatherings. The first was an FT dinner in SF in April. The second two were in May. A small FT weekend in Vegas and the following weekend was a lunch in LA. Then last weekend was my first whole event weekend in San Diego.

Only about eight people I have met at more than one event. I am looking forward to the next one in SF in September.

Punki,

Good topic.

Since we just got back from a long weekend in Rockport MA, my brains a little fried.

But my tongue in cheek answer is, "I'm starting to lose track." (And I'm only around for less than a year!)

Based on the ones I have been able to attend, and the fun and friends that have resulted, I can only say...............

Not nearly enough.

(Working on remedying that though.)

What does the number of events matter when it's the MEMORIES that you come away with, and the friends you make and see again?

As for hosting: lots of little dinners, Two Toronto/Red Green weekends and THREE Catman Do's! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I think it was wanderlust or Blonde Bomber or Newself who said I probably met more Flyertalkers than anyone here! That was very nice -- and there are few flyertalkers like JAWS and MJM and Chexfan who I am hoping to meet. Someday.

Wait a minute UAL Traveler. I'm pretty sure we met and it wasn't in BKK. Perhaps Long Beach or SF?

Craigz, yes anytime I run into Quietlion at the MGM poker machines it's an event. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

And our Superbowl Flyertalker gathering in Vegas was an event I'll never forget!

I am 'a little bit' afraid to start counting and mentioning the events and FlyerTalk-persons I met so far - as I would probably leave (forget) somebody out.

This past weekend at Wengen I looked through our Wengen Guest-book, and just in Wengen we were already able to host a total of 36 FlyerTalkers (22 of them overnight).

I guess, looking through my (email)-addressbook and the FlyerTalker category I have listed there, I might have met about 420 FlyerTalkers so far in[*]Switzerland: Uitikon-Waldegg (at home we hosted so far 12 FlyerTalkers overnight), Wengen, Zürich, Basel, Bern, St.Gallen, Lucerne, Interlaken, Gemeva-Lausanne-Montreux[*]Germany: Stuttgart, Münich, Frankfurt, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Weil a/Rhein[*]France: Alsace (Riquewihr, Illhäusern, Strasbourg), Paris, Mulhouse, Lyon[*]Austria: Vienna[*]Belgium: Brüssel[*]Netherlands: Amsterdam[*]Fürstentum Lichtenstein: Vaduz[*]Italy: Naples, Milano[*]England: London, Exeter[*]Scandinavia: Copenhague, Helsinki, Stockholm, Malmö[*]USA: New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles -
Anaheim - Orange County, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque - Santa Fe - Taos, AChicago, Seattle, New Orleans, Denver, Phoenix, Hawaii (not only the PiP), Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Reno[*]Canada: Vancouver-Whistler,[*]Puerto Rico: Old San Juan[*]Mexico-City[*]Australia: Melbourne (several times), Sydney, Cairns[*]Thailand: Bangkok, Surat Thani[*]China: Hong Kong[*]India: Delhi

BlondeBomber Jul 31, 2001 1:37 pm

More than I probably can remember but at least there was PiP, Altbier, FAQ, 2 great steak dinners with Catman and friends, Rudi in Paris, Vancouver and Switzerland, Ken h and the Mexican Hat Dance with visits with others in Chicago, get togethers with AnnaS in Chicago, in Ottawa, in Toronto with AfterBurner, with Canadian flyers in Toronto, weekend with many in Vancouver; flyme2 in Montreal; Mexico City (Maple Leaf and backseat), San Francisco (baobab), Phoenix (onefreeman and raeban and the sad funeral), 2 STIFFS in Tucson. I know I have missed some but that's the majority. I count 22 but then it's not very accurate. That amazes even me!
