need help with San Diego, CA

Hi to all. I need help with some advice on San Diego. Im going to be there next weekend and want to buy some sporting equipment. I need a set of golf clubs and some scuba diving equipment. Is there a Nevada Bobs in San Diego? I would appreciate any tips/advice any of you could provide.

Thanks!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Gaucho,

Although I'm not aware of a Nevada Bob's golf store in SAN, we do have quite a number of other golf shops, some of them specializing in discounts like Bob's. Stores offering diving equipment are likewise plentiful. I'd suggest asking at your hotel's front desk or concierge lounge for assistance.

Gaucho -

Suggestion from my hubby for scuba diving equipments: you may want to try Ocean Enterprises. It's on 7710 Balboa Ave, Suite 101, San Diego. Phone# 858-565-6054. Web site: www.oceanenterprises.com. From airport, just go North on I-805 and exit Balboa and head east for about one blk. Been there and selections not bad. Hope this helps??

Hi Gaucho:

In my opinion, the main reasons to buy from a local dive shop are 1) you can support the local dive business/club/friends and 2) it is somewhere you can take equipments in to be serviced. However, if you are a global person whose permanent home changes every so often, you might as well order it from the internet. A good site with good price and selection is www.leisure-pro.com . No tax too!

Ken-- you make an excellent point. My current ploblem is that if I were to buy online and deliver this to my Mexico address, the chances are the stuff will get stolen and/or taxed heavily upon entry. I could of course deliver the stuff to a buddy's home somewhere in the US and then collect it, but its too much hassle. Thanks for the tip, I will still look around so I can get reference prices.

An alternative to the dive equipment shop already recommended is:

Caveat: I don't golf and I don't scuba, so I have no personal experience with any of these shops.
