Hello all!

I am (after a good night's sleep) going on my summer vacation from Copenhagen. I will be going to several US cities and Vancouver. I would very much like of any of you FlyerTalkers wanted to meet, new or old, does not matter. So, if you have the time/energy (and want to meet me) then let me know. As this is my summer vacation I have plenty of time and I would take great pleasure in meeting you.

In Vancouver at the Westin Grand and at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown.

I proposed gathering for drinks this evening in or around his hotel. I'm free from 5 until 7:30 or so, and so apparently is Geo. If anyone else is interested in some Thursday afternoon/evening happy hour activities in Northern Virginia, drop me a line at [email protected] and I'll let you know this afternoon where we're planning on meeting.

OTOH, I did not hear back from GoldLust. Perhaps I'll try and surprise him at IAD. Anyone know what he looks like???

geo1004 is a YES for this evening... free from 5 pm until about 7 pm when he need to head to a dinner engagement.

Goldlust, I am flying into LAS for one night on 6/13 (from JFK via SFO), also staying at the LV Hilton. I think I am due to arrive at the airport at 8:00PM and my flight to LAX the next day commences at 11:55AM. I can try contacting you when I get in.

I will be in LAS from 6/10 - 6/13. Looks like you get in close to midnight on 6/10. Every Sunday at The House of Blues is the SIN party. Doors open at 11:30 PM and the party goes until breakfast. Guess where you will find me if you want a late night drink (I don't dance so I will be at the bar "people watching").

I live here in LAS VEGAS, and would be glad to meet other FT'ers, as they visit. I moved here a year ago, and have gotten familiar with alot of sites. Send me an email, and we can make plans. Once you arrive, you can call me anf finalize some plans.

I am having problems with my @home server. It should be back up and running on Wed or Thurs.

In the mean time I will be checking the board at work. I can still access my @home email through hotmail.

Why not make a day of it? Let me throw this out as a proposal:

Meet for lunch in/around Japantown. (Mifune, in Japan Center?)

From Geary and Fillmore, a Golden Gate Transit 50 bus ($2.35; will increase to $2.50 July 1) takes us across the Golden Gate to Vista Point (bring a camera; dress for cool, windy weather). Return to San Francisco on foot, walking along the eastern side of the bridge (wear comfortable shoes!). Obligatory stop at the gift shop.

A MUNI 28 bus zips along Doyle Drive to the Palace of Fine Arts, and an afternoon at the world-famous Exploratorium science museum.

Later, a MUNI 43 bus to the Inner Sunset for pizza at Pascuale's at Irving St. and 8th Avenue. Dessert across the street at Tart to Tart. MUNI N back to downtown SF.

No can do. Funny thing is, I'll be in Portland the week before. Some other time I suppose....

Your plan sounds good (or something similar) but at the moment I have plans mid-day on Sat.

It may be just the three of us on Sat since no one else has responded for diner.

The fact that I only have internet at work until my cable service is fixed is driving me insane. I can only check the board at work and really busy.

I emailed Goldlust yesterday about starting a new thread for Sat the 16th and I have not heard back from him yet. I think some people may pass over this thread since it has so many cities in it.

While we're on the subject of dinner, can I interest anyone in Tommy's Joynt (SW corner of Geary and Van Ness, across from the Cathedral Hill Hotel) for Friday, June 15?

Sorry but have yet to find cheap Internet in LAS. Several on the board including several folks from SFO have my real name (wow...), if you wanna reach me simply call the Las Vegas Hilton and ask for me (I am staying at a top floor villa and the Grand Vacations Club at the LVH).

I made diner reservations on Sat night in San Francisco and started a thread for the specific occasion.

The reservations are at the Slanted Door on 17th and Valencia. There are actually a ton of fabulous restaurants in a one block radius in that area. I love Ti Couz but it is not good for my diet.

Please post if anyone wants to come Sat.

I take it means there is no interest in anything prior to dinner on Saturday, and no interest in anything at all on Friday?

I have now moved on to Vancouver. After a nice night at the Westin Grand I am staying at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown. Any FlyerTalkers around here?

Now back in Denmark. Arrived yesterday. I have yet to recover from the jetlag though.

Thought I would post this final message to this thread to get a conclusion (or dare I say: "closure") i.e. tell you all how it turned out.

In Washington D.C. geo1004 gave me a paper to be used throughout the journey for all FlyerTalkers I met to sign.

I managed to meet FlyerTalkers in all cities except in Vancouver.

On the way back I even met a journalist doing a story on FT http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Looking at the paper saying "Goldlust" with wonderful pink letters I count:

Hi, goldlust.

Sorry I couldn't run out to the airport to see you during your very short connection here in Seattle on Thursday. Next time plan to spend a day and night here and we will put you up either at our home or on our boat.

I am delighted that you had an opportunity to meet my adorable friends (and arch-rivals) Kokonutz and geo1004 and the irepressible ChannelCinq, along with all of the other FlyerTalkers you encountered along the way.

We will come visit you someday (maybe sooner than later) in Copenhagen and bring our daughter to interpret. Thanks for your fine company in Vancouver and along the way to Seattle.
