meet in CLE-CAK area?
 

I've seen posts from several folks from the Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown area, and even traded E-mail with someone from Cleveland about a get together in April; sorry that never materialized -- I lost your address! :-)

If anyone is interested in a get together let me know. I'm staying in Cuyahoga Falls Mon-Thur night every week through the end of June (at least) and am willing to drive a ways if anyone knows a good place to grab dinner in this area....

Holland -- I'll finally be moving into CLE in early June. Would the week of June 11 be good for you? After June 18, I don't know my schedule yet, so I can't commit to anything after that yet.

I'll be there the last week in June (helping Mom and Dad move--ugh!) and may be able to get away for an evening...keep me posted!

I will be back home between May 23-June 1 and June 12-29. My schedule is subject to change. I should not have any problems making a get-together during either of those periods.

Why don't we all plan on 6/12 around 7pm. Now the question is WHERE to meet??? Anyone got any good ideas?

June 12 at 7:00 works for me. I don't care where we meet... do you want to do drinks or dinner or both? There are a lot of fun things to do downtown... the Flats and the Warehouse District are great if you like to drink. As far as a dinner place, I hear the Chophouse is pretty good...I've never been there. I'm open to any suggestions anyone might have...

I will be in Cleveland for sure June 29-July 1 or 2nd...Burkey..beaubo..others ..lets for sure meet! After all it is my original home city...would be loads of fun and I wold love to meet ya all. I have a nephews Bar Mitzvah to attend on 6-30 at 10:00 A.M. on the west side..rest of the time I am free..you guys can e-mail me or post here.

i have 1 vote for the chophouse. any others? i was thinking dinner, but would settle for just drinks if everyone would prefer.

6/12 will work for me for sure, I'll have to wait for my schedule for the one on 7/2. Where ever you all want is fine with me, since I'm new to the area. FWIW, I'm living downtown. I'll try to keep up to date, but I won't be back in the states until 6/4.

At the present time, 6/12 is great for me. I will be in Southern California on 7/2. Since I live 35 miles south of CLE, there is no problem meeting at the Flats or anywhere in this area.

While 7/2 is no good for me 7/3 would be great. I'll be driving from PIT-TOL that night and could easily stop in CLE or CAK on the way for a dinner.

OK, as the resident native, hope I can chime in with some workable suggestions.

First off, welcome MrKey (in from Fla or CNX??!!), Burkey (SanDiego1K told me about you), Holland (our powwow is long overdue), BobL (glad to e-meet ya!), pitflyer (hope your dates work), shouldabeenablonde (don't I wish too!) and tribeflyer (this could be their year on the diamond at the Jake).

For me 6/12 at 7p should work, 7/2 might as well be 7/2/02, too far in advance to anticpate kids baseball, soccer and sleepovers schedules!

Anyhow, if downtown is the most convenient place:

Blue Pointe Grill has excellent food (leans toward seafood, but meat is also great) around $20+ per entree Bar is pretty good if rinks are the primary activity. W 6th and St. Clair, less than 2 blocks from Public Square.

Cleveland Chophouse, which someone referenced is also quite good (leans toward meat, but seafood is also great!!!) around $20+ per entree. Sure enough, its right next door to Blue Pointe!
Atmosphere is more clubby.

On the east side in Beachwood is Moxie at Richmond/Chagrin , just off I-271. Lively bar, great eclectic cuisine $20+ per entree.

If I'm aiming too high price-wise, you can always get generous drinks and fun fingerfood at the Friday's, Cookers, Applebee's of the world. For more local flavor, please see above.

Out of commission until Tuesday night. Whatever this motley crew of CLE FFers decides, for 6/12, I'm totally there.

Any of those places is fine with me...Downtown or Beachwood is about the same drive from Fairlawn so just name the place, date and time and I am there! Looking forward to meeting everyone. I will keep in touch with this board daily to get the final decision.

I am ok for dinner or drinks.

I vote for Moxie's in Beachwood...I have been there a few times and it is a good meeting place...I grew up around the corner from there..so MRKEY won't get lost! Beaubo ..are meeting is long overdue I am confirmed on flights 6/28 thru 7/5...see you at Byron for the fireworks?

i just wanted to toss some ideas into the ring..

6/12 7p is on calendar; once you've gotten consensus re: drinks vs. dinner, downtown vs. east side (cant vouch for west side), $$$$ vs. $, please post here and maybe email me just to be safe.

I'll be incommunicado walleye fishing in South Dakota until 6/4, so everyone post your preferences, ($, drinks, meal, location, etc). Maybe everyone can come to a concensus while I'm gone....
