Dr. Burkey

Today is graduation day for one of FlyerTalk's finest. I met him at my first ever FlyerTalk gathering in Philadelphia nearly two years ago. He snuck away from his books and making his rounds to show me and Catman a great time in Philly. He's a great guy and has become a friend to me and many others here over the years.

burkey, warmest congratulations.

Burkey,

I agree with my friend squeakr, dgolds and wife.
You're a great guy and I wish you all the luck in the world.
Maybe Randy can do a special board for travel medicine.

Regards,
Dan

Clearly Burkey, if that is his real name, is a liar, cheat and fraud. He might play doctor on dates, but he is not a real doctor.

The evidence is clear, while real medical students study, Brent travels and enjoys himself.

Every time I have presented him with a medical concern, he responds, “drink another beer.”

He does not talk about Medical School incessantly and does not make you think that he’s more important that you are.

He refuses to supply me with free controlled substances.

He does not tell every woman that he meets that he is a doctor within the first five minutes.

He does not hate lawyers and insurance companies.

He’s no doctor, he’s too much **** fun.

BEWARE DR. BURKEY IS A FRAUD.

I thought that "drink another beer" sounded like good advice Jailer. It's actually better advice that most doctors give.

Calling Dr. Moe. Calling Dr. Larry. Calling Dr. Burkey. Congratulations to the latter.

Heres to a great professional career from one Doc to another. Cheers

erdoc May 19, 2001 2:47 pm

Enjoy your "new" first name.

Realize that the half life of medical knowlege is 5 years (it may be less now) so 5 years from now half of everything you know will be wrong. Hope you forget the right half.

burkey May 19, 2001 2:58 pm

Thanks everyone, including Jailer http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Just have another beer my brother, or, well, I'll have one for you.

Sorry it took so long to say thanks, but if it wasn't enough going on yesterday, the phone company shut my service off by mistake 2 wks early!! Not a happy camper to say the least.

RDURES1 May 19, 2001 4:51 pm

Dr Burkey....Best of Luck..Love you bunches, and you're one of the best folks I know..even if you refuse to do geriatrics. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

dhammer53 May 19, 2001 10:10 pm

Who was that masked woman above? Burkey, you're starting the dawn ( http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif) of a new career. My best wishes a second time.

Say doc, what about those steaks? Can I still eat steaks? If not, what will flyertalkers eat when they get together?

Thanks again everyone... just hardly working these days (in Palm Beach, but not MRKEY's Palm Beach) to "rest up" for a hopefully not too bad of an intern year.

The closest I can do with ER was having my med school mentioned when Benton was thinking of moving to Philly for a surgery attending position. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I'm looking forward to CLE, and hope I can get the low-down on all the hot spots...
