LAX on Thurs. evening 2/22
 

I'm going to be at LAX for a layover on my way to AKL on 2/22. Currently, Newself, Mr. Limo & myself are getting together at the President's Club for a visit & libations. Premex, excellent point since Anna is not a member I 'm curious as how she will accomodate people who show up. She is a guest of one of the other attendees. Each member may bring in 2 guests. Seems the quota is already full... Maybe a rethink is in order? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

If this gets to be too large a gathering, we could always move it to the Red Carpet Club depending on who all shows up. Maybe meeting at the gate of my arriving flight would work in case there are logistics to be sorted out? Here's my itinerary:

Both MrLimo and myself have Presidents Club memberships so we can each bring in two guests. There is a way to get into the door if the right CO Angels are working that night...DoubleTree Cookies and/or Teuschler chocolates. PremEx, you shouldn't have a problem getting in since you know about the secret hallway that leads to the Playboy Mansion! Anna, is Mom still coming with you?

And I'll miss Koko by another 10, as I come wandering into LAX later Friday night on AA.

Right now I have a small party to attend in MSY that week and weekend but if plans change I would love to see everyone.

My wife and I will be at LAX that night waiting for UA to Auckland! We are flying business so we will be in the "appropriate qualifling club". Continential is nearby?? Perhaps we can stop by and say hey! I may even has a CO club pass. Is the Presidents club special.

ranles, I'll sure look forward to seeing you and your wife again. The Presidents Club is always special, whenever FlyerTalkers are on board. Any venue is, of course. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif The LAX UA Red Carpet Club is located in Terminal 7 across from Gates 70A & B. The CO Presidents Club is located in Terminal 6 across from Gate 60. You won't even have to exit Security to change clubs which is only a three or four minute walk, door-to-door through the corridor that connects Terminals 6 & 7.

As you exit the RCC turn right for a short distance, then almost immediately, and prior to exiting Security, turn left at the corridor/walkway and continue walking toward Terminal 6. As you exit the walkway turn left, then walk a short distance toward Gate 60 which is on the left. The PC will be on your right, across from Gate 60. By the way, I believe your flight to Auckland departs from Terminal 6. I couldn't have planned it better myself.

Hey MrLimo (and anyone else, for that matter). I leave tomorrow and will be at LAX from around 10am or 10:30am to around 12:30pm or so. Due to someone's generosity, I will be in the USAir club if you feel like making a trip up. Just ask for me at the desk, I presume. Otherwise, I will be there again in April and will send an email or post as a reminder.

Darren, I won't be able to break away this morning, but do have a safe, successful and enjoyable round-the-world journey. Keep us posted.

I'll be in LA Feb 21-24 to present at a conference and I will have evenings open for myself. I enjoy meeting fellow FTers at the AC (which I am a member) or RCC, et cetera.

I'm schedualed to stay at the Hilton LAX but will probably end up breaking it into two stays, the second at the other Hilton on Century BLVD.

Just let me know the times, I didn't see those in the string.

That's great news, Dudemon. Glad you can make it. Although not etched in stone, it looks as if the main venue will be the CO Presidents Club, with the UA Red Carpet Club running a close second. Simply scroll above for club directions. On Thursday, February 22, AnnaS and her Mother are scheduled to arrive ORD-LAX UA Flight 129 at 7:06 pm and depart LAX-AKL at 10:25 pm on UA Flight 841. I'm planning to arrive at the Presidents Club around 6:30 pm (to make sure they're fully stocked and prepared for yet another FlyerTalk Board Meeting). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

By the way, for clarification the Hilton on Century Boulevard is the Hilton Los Angeles Airport (.8 mile to LAX) and is usually referred to as the Hilton LAX. The other nearby Hilton, the one I believe you are initially staying is the Hilton Garden Inn LAX/El Segundo (2 miles to LAX). Two other suggestions, although further from LAX are the Hilton Torrance/South Bay (8 miles to LAX) and the Hilton Port of Los Angeles/San Pedro (18 miles to LAX). It looks like I might be at LAX on the evening of 2/22/01 for a return trip to SMF.
