The Delta Fire, burning north of Shasta Lake, CA, has the potential to impact our Amtrak Coast Starlight ride to LA by closing off the tracks. Two days ago, containment was 76%, yesterday up to 81%, and this morning 87%. (Thank yous and positive thoughts to all agencies who battle blazes.) If the tide turns and tracks close by Sunday, Ted will need to cancel, and I will enjoy a few days in Seattle and book an award home.
Maslow’s has a Monday “Burgers and Brews” special event w Georgetown Brewing; not sure if that’s instead of or in addition to the regular offerings
In addition to the regular menu. Looking forward to seeing you and Mrs. jrl767. ^

I arrived Los Angeles last night on the Coast Starlight, 15 minuets earl. Crew was excellent. Scenery outstanding. Food passable. Had private stock of adult beverages in my bedroom. SCA was happy to bring me ice.

Poppy was fantastic, and so was the company. We had eggplant fries, squash blossoms, flavorful thalis, and duck. I'd share some pics if I had a photo resizer on my phone.
Thanks to jrl767 and Mrs jrl767 for joining me tonight and for the pre-dinner Junebaby reconnaissance mission.
See you all tomorrow at Maslow's. We've got a table for 7 at 6:30.
