Is It Just ME?
Or has Flyertalk been a very civil place to be the past couple of weeks??
As we move into the New Year, I hope we all can remember how to continue this new found environment! Happy New Year! William |
Happy New Year to you too, sir!
It's not just you; I've noticed the amount of postings have been to the minimum this week, mostly because everyone's out with their familie and away from their computers. Makes it a breeze to spend less than 2 minutes on each board. Thx Jamester |
Things have been pretty dull while my pal, ozstamps, spends a week with the sheep on the Falkland Islands.
Must not be any internet access there. Watch for things to heat up after Saturday, when the one weekly flight goes back and forth. I hope that oz had a relaxing stay, and that he comes back rested and ready for action. |
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM MRKEY!
We all need a break from any more nonsense, unless damage is ir-repairable let us just move on and KEEP FLYING in 2001. I just booked a trip to Mumbia via BKK-HK-LAX-DFW-PBI RT /Bus Class on AA Reward using CX for 100k with stop-overs in LAX and HK...is that good use of my hard earned miles? Does anybody have any other choices? Going though Europe was 150k, so I chose the Trans-pac route. I also need to get to Nepal on my own dime in my month long journey. ANY help would be great! I don't think this has gone unnoticed, but I suspect some folks are afraid what will happen if attention is drawn to this. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ------------------ "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own." |
MRKEY,
Based on _very_ little info, I want to say flying BKK-Nepal on Thai is one of the cheaper ways to do it-- I knew people who made a few trips there. Maybe it's because of the strength of the Baht (?). I remember that finding seats-- any seats-- was hard, though. |
Thanks for the advice. I'll check TG, but I would rather fly from BOM and stay in India..itinerary on request. I could go from HK too..but I think it is very expensive...keep me posted...my travel dates can be changed with no penalty!

We flew from New Delhi to Kathmandu on Nepal's airline (Royal something or other). Had an awesome view of Everest departing to BKK. Do you have hotel yet? We were there about 5 yrs ago and the choices were dismal - water really yucky. After India, Nepal looks clean but do not be deceived. I recommend Yak and Yeti for hotel - well located, restaurant pretty good. Annapurna is to be avoided at all costs. Food looked like poison and water so dirty I would not even bathe in it! You want to be right in town where transportation is easy and cheap. Look out for the yogi at the big Hindu temple outside town. Very weird. Condi Nast Traveler did an article discussing this guy.
