onefreeman. You really don't get it, do you? This thread has been basically ignored by others for nine hours now, and Dorians's post above is pretty apt. As have all the other threads of similar ilk you have started/rejuvenated along similar lines in the past days also been VERY largely ignored. You missed posting in the Air France forum I think - you better go there right now. This response will be my stock response to cut and paste as you wander spreading your nonsense throughout FT. Why did you choose to drag up a silly 3 month old thread elsewhere? If Doc did that, you and others would be all over his back, as you added nothing new - and only sought to incite more flame wars. All of it is simply adding to the clutter on boards many complain are too cluttered already - you were among the first to complain about me doing that. Why this vendetta to follow me around these boards and dredge up this kind of nonsense for no other reason than to continue your warped vendetta?

I repeat for the fourth time now, I have not read ONE useful travel related post from you in the 6 months I've been on these boards. Not a single ONE that I can recall. I asked you days ago to please enlighten me if I was wrong there. Publicly or privately. To select your choice - your best shot. For anyone to nominate just one even. The silence has been deafening. On the boards or by email. ZIPPO. Just lots more nasty jabs instead from you. I invited all on these boards to judge the usefulness of the last 100 posts I have made, against the last 100 of yours, and tell me whether yours were of more value to this community re travel or points tips. Or the last 200 or 500. I don't care. The silence has been absolutely deafening on that too. A few quite predictable "I've met Marty - he is a nice guy, nice wife too" responses from those you have met, but nothing whatever from one soul defending your value to these boards to those who visit to learn something about flying, travel, or earning points. Show me a "Baht Pass" run you initiated, or ways for those here to get 100,000 free Hilton points, or novel ways to legally skirt airline rules/programs etc, and I will take it all back.

Yes, you may have been here a long time, and yes you have met a lot of FT'ers socially, and that is great for all of you, and I have no doubt many find you both a charming couple personally. That is NOT what your threads are about. I too have met some wonderful FT'ers, and hope to meet more. It is one of the great strengths of FlyerTalk. But note it IS called FlyerTalk for a good reason. You might meet nice people too, on the Yahoo Ice Hockey or Baseball Cards chat boards - knowing about travel is not essential there. But you seem to add NOTHING to the sum total of knowledge on points or tips to the great bulk of FlyerTalk users? All you seem to be fanatical about right now onefreeman are concerted and relentless and spiteful barbs against me via yourself, and another few obviously fake user names who in the past toed your line. Your friends perhaps? So be it.

I will not post further on this thread either, and play into your hands. And I might politely suggest others do not, but that is their call entirely. The threads you have revived disappear from sight regularly due to total boredom from others here, and BINGO you go raise them again. Very, very, very, wise heads on these boards (male and female) have urged me a month or two back not to let these kind of threads drag on by being baited into continual responses, which I was once foolish enough to do. I have taken that excellent advice and thanked those FT'ers for it, who took a lot of their time to walk me through it, and like to think FT has been a better if not more peaceful place to be since I heeded that advice.

By posting here right up front I may stop it dragging on, who knows? Other than YOU obsessively initiating the resurrection of all this old nonsense, the vast bulk of FT'ers seem to be saying: "we are NOT interested in this stuff, it is boring unproductive flaming, and just let it die. We do not want or need this cr*p." If you were a newbie posting what you have done in the past few days the world would have collapsed on your head big time. Some of it is quite frenzied when you read it - like a spoilt child getting no attention, you are just yelling louder and louder. Think about it.

You have to live with your actions onefreeman, not I. And people who know you are doubtless watching your actions and making their own judgements on them. VERY little support from the 100s of FT'ers that know you has emerged from your frenetic efforts in the past few days, a point I hope has not escaped you? About six at last count across many threads. I really might politely suggest you sit down, and think about WHY you are doing this. And ask yourself HOW is it assisting FlyerTalk or its users in ANY way at all. Please think real hard on that.

Your profile here on FT (and you typed it remember) says as occupation: "early mid-life crises." (sic) I feel rather sad that this vendetta is your fun and focus in life right now. Your "interests" you had listed until recently as "Not FlyerTalk". Wonder why you changed it - sounds perfect based on your recent posts. I shall not be responding again to this thread, sorry. Life is too short. Judging from the other threads, you will go into tantrum mode next post. So be it.

And now, if you'll please excuse me, I will go and learn, and hopefully help others learn where I am able, about FLYING, travel, and earning points.

I myself gave up argueing with ozstamps on FlyerTalk-board months ago.

dorian: I explain what is (not) going (anymore) for me, with an otherwise interesting and often also entertaining and posting sometimes really 'mileage creative ideas/propositions' australian FlyerTalk-colleague, here on a board.

With very few exceptions, FlyerTalkers over the two and a half years of this board's existence, were able to create a, way above the average communication level of Internet-boards/-communities: trustworthy and respectful in each other ('s personalities and 'behaviours').

I don't think what some of us only recently did find out about multiple personalities of our australian FlyerTalk-colleague, and how this 'other' personalities were used to flame/attack others of this board in the past, and at the same time or later, posting (under the 'original' and contradicting his real behaviour under other) 'akas' with: At least I am open enough to post an e-mail address, and a real name and address and website, and not hide rather sadly and spinelessly behind a fake user name with no e-mail or other data, to fire your rather cowardly poison darts. deserves any support. I doubt, that that is what a majority of activ and lurking FlyerTalkers support (if they know about it).

Months ago ozstamps and Rudi had a fight on Flyertalkboard where we accused each other for wrong 'quotes'. He asked me for proofs of my 'quotes' or for instant apologies, which I then (the proofs), to the best of my knowledge, did provide. I never received an apology. That's when I decided to end argueing with him.

Today, I stand up again, knowing too many facts to be silent, and also, for Rae (who married onefreeman just after FlyerTalk started, and to my knowledge they, probably as a first and until now also last, chose their 'bestman' through Flyertalk) who is healthwise in THE fight of her life and for her husband onefreeman.

Someone had to stand up here on this board and tell ozstamp the truth. Not to stop him to post useful on FlyerTalk, but to stop 'foulplay' under other 'akas' - thank you onefreeman and Counsellor.

Please stop playing 'foul' ozstamps (janejet/MolsonMiler/others ?).

Onefreeman, we all know who made those posts, and we all know why s/he made those posts, which is because s/he is an azzole. Now don't go pretending to be an azzole yourself (I've met you, I know you're not one).

So he did, and when the votes were counted, he himself was the big winner and duly disappeared from public view. This suggests, vaguely, one or two courses of action, one of which I embarked on some months ago.

I think Rudi's points are well taken and that is why they should be posted in community. As a community, we must use some self-control and exhibit respect for others that have earned that respect.

I and others have appreciated oz's posts on the technical/how to earn miles side. I have little comment on the other personal barbs and flaming as I have not followed it as closely as others. HOWEVER, After meeting him in DUS, I was surprised by some of oz's attacks of some fun threads around Thanksgiving--could have been a bad day I guess.

I will say that onefreeman and Rudi have earned my trust and respect on all sides (personal, technical, community). But this is not a p*ssing match, though Glen seemed to make it one by asking where was onefreeman's support. Silence does not mean we are not in agreement with onefreeman in whole or in part--we'd just rather get on with the things we are interested in and stop the flame wars.

Onefreeman has been an important ingredient in the spirit of this community since day one (not just on the boards). Just do a search on this thread from the earliest days. Flyer Talk is not just about how to earn miles but it is also meeting new people with similar/diverse interests and helping out along the way.

Now I hope we can keep this from becoming an all out flame war with everyone taking sides. I just wanted to point out that there are other sides, despite the silence.
As Yosemite Sam says though: "I can only stands so much and then I can't stands no more!"

Just one small request though -- keep the flaming here (and in OMNI) and don't conflagrate the boards.

Just to set the record straight, opus17 and Jailer, I didn't author that ditty - I'm (unfortunately) not that good. I found it on the Internet about a year ago, and being a G&S fan copied and saved it. I just thought it made the point with a light and rather humorous touch.

I would someday like to meet and chat with the person who did write it though.
