Back to Flyertalk!

Wow. Lots of changes here! How cool. Good to see that there are still a bunch of people whose names I still recognize...How's everyone doing?

Anyway, thought I'd drop in and chat a bit. I've been hiding in the world of internet startups where you pretty much have to sell your soul to the company. But now I'm going on vacation! My G/F and I are going to a Contiki tour in Europe on July 14th. Can't wait. The tour company arranged for us to fly Virgin Atlantic from LAX. Never done that. Maybe I can get some feedback from you. I was hoping to use some miles to upgrade with AA or even UA, but I'm starting a brand new mileage account. :-(

Hello Ken! How is everything? Flying a lot lately? E-mail me!

Good to hear from you all.

Tim- the not-so-frequent flyer anymore ... :-)

Glad to see you back here, Tim. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Sounds like you've got a great vacation planned to make up for all the long hours. I can certainly empathize; my wife is working for an e-commerce start-up & we see each other very little lately http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Hello Shadow. I like the fast-paced internet startup environment but the hours really get to you! I can't wait to go on my trip. I've lost all of my "frequent-flyer" credentials so I'll have to start over... :~(
It's ok I guess. I can always see what's going on by listening to you guys.

welcome home... and enjoy your trip TC.

Hello.

Aaah! The tour company changed my tickets to Northwest (NW32 and NW33)- Both flights stop in Detroit. I'm trying to change that back to Virgin or a non-stop flight!

DC-10 vs. 747

What do you think?

Tim

geo1004 Jul 6, 2000 1:18 pm

Virgin vs. NW?

Go Virgin. Actually, flapping your arms all the way across the Atlantic would be better than connecting in Detroit.

timfucius Jul 6, 2000 1:24 pm

I know. I'd rather go on Virgin. Even on AA or UA- Anything that goes straight from LA-
How old are those DC-10s anyway?

Tim

TerryK Jul 6, 2000 7:08 pm

NW DC-10s? They are probably older than their pilots. But few NW planes are younger than their flight attendants anyway. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
