LAX June 23, 2000?

I know this is short notice, but I'm staying the night at the Wyndham Los Angeles Airport tomorrow evening (Friday, June 23rd) and if any FlyerTalkers are in the area and maybe want to get together for a burger and beer dinner, let me know.

I was thinking maybe the Pub at Barnabey's Hotel on Sepulveda or maybe Hennessey's Tavern at Hermosa Pier?

Nothing fancy and not too late a night for me as I have a very early flight to the Cancun in June (CJ2000) FlyerTalk get together the next morning and I want to arrive relaxed and ready to party! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Big BRUDDAR! I hope you have someone comes out to hang with you Friday night (I'll toast you with some Flyertalkers including Hammertoad and JimB) among steaks in MIA.

And you better get some rest! Once I hit the ground in CUN I want four days of partying with you (and we can help keep each other out of trouble! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Maybe newself is free for beer??/

Indurain Jun 22, 2000 5:13 pm

Did I hear free beer? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Oh, free FOR beer... Sure! I'm always free for beer!

Don't forget the breathalyzer! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Ok, for those that are interested and can make it, here's the plan:

Friday, June 23, 2000
Barnabey's Hotel
Barnabey's Pub
3501 N. Sepulveda Blvd. (just 2 miles south of LAX)
Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
(310) 545-8466

I'll plan on being there from 7:00pm until 10:00pm (if others show, you folks can party 'til you puke, but I have make it an fairly early evening). No need to RSVP, just drop in if you can. Email me if you want my Cell Phone number for any reason.

Hope some of you can make it!

That sounds possible. Barnaby's is an excellent location. It's full of European artifacts gathered by the owners.

QuietLion Jun 22, 2000 11:49 pm

Hunnybear and I will be there to see you off in style... burger style! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

What is this In and Out burger thing???

I'm not a fan of hamburger. I prefer my COW in Steak form. And I'm not a Fast Food fan. (BLEH)

... well ... hmmmmmm ... during our recent gastronomic (and tennis) journey through France ... there was a moment of McDonalds temptation ... and (first) PremEx couldn't resist and (later) he proofed to be a very good salesemen and 'delivered' some french fries to me (they disappeared, I must confess, in about 3 minutes ...).

I live in Studio City and Seattle, and unfortunately, I am not coming home this weekend to LA.. but http://www.msnbc.com/local/KNBC/541519.asp is not too far (the new Universal City station is about a mile east) from me and might be fun for you guys to check out if you want a free subway ride...

jeffreyt Jun 23, 2000 12:38 pm

Oh and Catman.. you haven't lived until you've eaten at an In and Out Hamburger. They are really a great Burger, a chain of 50+ stores mostly in California, but some in Nevada too. Worth every penny. They are the best chain burger by far.

newself Jun 23, 2000 1:36 pm

Since you mentioned beer, I am riding with Stimpy tonight to meet up with everyone. I was going to relax with a couple of Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome Ale tonight but since I don't get to see my buddy PremEx very often, I will put those off until tomorrow.

A great evening and thanks to Stimpy, Newself, QuietLion, Honeybear, Indurain, and Cesco.g for dropping in! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

We broke-up at 9:30pm and sadly Wingless4 dropped by at 10:00pm but we were all gone. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Fortunatly she lives just a short distance away so she didn't have far to get back home. Sorry we missed 'ya.

Again, thank's to all for a great evening!

Indurain Jun 24, 2000 2:54 am

Great evening indeed! Thanks everyone!

It was nice to see everyone again, and a pleasure to meet Stimpy and Newself. Sorry we missed you Wingless4 (4 already!?)...

Hey, how come it seems all the guys that have early flights tomorrow are up so late surfing? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Oh, and a belated hello to everyone from HoneyBaby, who is really proud that I was across the street from Fry's Electronics and managed to fight the temptation...

BTW, where the he** were YOU, geo???????? Scared that seeing me would arouse those old passions, I suppose. Darn my irrisitibility!!!!!
