Dinner in San Jose?
 

We talked about the possibility of having dinner in honor of QuantumLeap's week long visit to the Embedded Systems Conference. I couldn't find the original posts so I'm starting a new thread.

I originally was planning to be away this week but plans fell through, so I could come down one night for dinner. Any takers? QL, are you checking FT while you're away?

The classes are at the convention center in downtown SJC and get out at 5:30. I have a company car, so pretty much anywhere is fine with me, as long as someone provides directions http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Dinner is set for 7:30 PM at Amber India, 2290 El Camino Real, No. 9, Mountain View, 650-968-7511.

I made reservations for 3: Scott the Flier, QuantumLeap and myself. If anyone else in the area would like to join us, please send me e-mail by 4:00 PM PDT so I can change our reservation.

If we are out late, we will most definitely celebrate the arrival of 11:56 Mountain Time.

Directions: from Milpitas, take 237 West to the El Camino Real exit. Go right (north) on El Camino Real for approximately 2 miles. The restaurant is on the right.

From San Francisco, take 101 South to the Rengstorff Ave. exit. Head right (west) on Rengstorff to El Camino Real. Turn right on El Camino Real; restaurant will be on your right approximately 1 blk.

From San Jose, take 101 North to the Rengstorff Ave. exit. Head west (left?) on Rengstorff to El Camino Real. Turn right on El Camino Real; restaurant will be on your right approximately 1 blk.

Good question! We are south county also!! Time and date, please! It must be a VERY old thread. Be nice to see some of you again!

Something tells me it was for Tuesday, Sept 28 and Austin TX and I missed it! Pity, and I do so love Indian food, plus Einar was out of town...

Sorry all, it was for Tuesday the 28th and kind of a last minute deal setup on Monday. Bill ( Quantumleap )is in town through Thursday night maybe we could persuade him to go out for dinner again Thursday night.

As Scott said, it was a last minute arrangement. We did not mean to exclude anyone; Tuesday night was the only night I could make it down to San Jose when QL was going to be in town.

Actually, we had discussed this on another thread about a month ago, but no one brought the thread "back to the top" recently. When I realized that the other day, I started the new thread Monday. I believe the discussion was in the thread that got deleted accidentally.

Thursday works for me. Einar gets in at 11 PM SJC as it is. So he is out. I have a new friend who would like to go to Vegas but has no one who will accompany her. I suggested she get on board and go to the Vegas jaunt with FT. If enough folks are available Thurs, I'll see if she can come too and see what an awesome crowd the FTers are. She is definitely a "Merry Widow!" What part of the world would you be coming from? Quantum is in Milpitas (has a car?). Eulipia is in the new Entertainment coupon book - want to buy one? I am selling them for CONTACT Crisis Hotline in SJ. Bring $40!

I've got an early Friday flight and some work to do Thursday evening. Unfortunately, I can't break free for another dinner :-(

Oh well, next time!! Usually I am such an addict I would have picked up on the thread in time but yesterday I was muy busy.
