Chile in August?
 

I'll be in Santiago from the 19th of August till the 23rd. Any FT'ers living, visiting or passing through at the same time? Lets get together with a fine bottle of Chilean wine and talk about Rudi, Randy and other interesting topics.

We're getting close to the dates. How about an update of your plans, so SCLgal and I can organize an appropriate FT get-together.

I'm ready for the "Chilean get together". We just have to set a day.

Jim B and SCLgal - what a warm showing of hospitality. As my wife and I are both on vacation, and I know that you both live and work in Santiago, I feel the decision of when and where should be left to the 2 of you according to your schedules and experience. We are open to anything, and as we will not be jet-lagged, anytime. Do either of you wish for some North American commodity we can bring with us? Please e-mail...and don't be shy...as long as it's legal!

Well, I'll be in the states this week (I'm at the RCC in SCL as we speak), arriving back on 21 August. Maybe Sunday 22 would be the day. We could get together for drinks and talk, and then move on to dinner? Let us know what kind of stuff you do/don't like to eat, so we can pick an appropriate spot.

Any other FTers going to be down here at that time?

Sunday, August 22nd would be just fine with us. Food is no problem, but something native Chilean would be nice. We are staying in an apartment in Las Condes. I will e-mail details (I've yet to get the phone #). Looking forward to meeting you all!

Ok, so everything is ready. We will meet on Sunday night for dinner and we will have the first Chilean FF get together.

flyme2, you couldn't come in a better moment. Tomorrow it start the big Gourmet event of the year, here in Santiago. All the Wines and good Food will be presented on that place from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22. All the chilean "viñas" (sorry don't know it in English) will be there giving free samples of there wines. You can test all that you want from all kind of wines.

Just got back from Santiago this morning, and I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to SCLgal and Jim B and spouses for the warmest display of hospitality I have yet encountered at a FT get-together.
SCLgal, I am working on our NYC trip and things are looking great!. I'll be in touch by e-mail, once I firm things up.
Once again, many thanks for showing us what cyber-friendship can be!

Glad you guys got back home OK. It was great meeting you, and I hope we'll have another chance to get together.
