Flyertalk Community: What's it for?
 

I just wanted to know what this area was made for, how it is suppose to be distinuished from "the Buzz."

FlyerTalk Community - Here's where members can link and talk about their next get togethers. Whether its the Party in Paradise or the local FlyerTalk chapter in Dallas, here's where the community plans their events. Having this in The Buzz was difficult for members to know where the threads were.

It would be nice if those appropriate items were now deleted from the buzz and moved here. I believe that would help all of us understand better. It might also be useful for an explaination of what is what to be available visably for old and new members.

Hopefully, we'll all eventualy be posting our social notices here. Adding this thread was a great idea - those who don't care to ever meet their fellow Flyer Talkers can stay away; those who'd like to get together whenever we're in the same airport can sign on. Thanks, Flyer Talk!
To ask Flyer Talk to go through all the postings on The Buzz and select those that should be moved would really be imposing on them. Let's accept cross-references for the time being?

We've posted an explanation to these new changes in the "Official FlyerTalk Announcements" which is part of the FlyerTalk Support forum. We do have plans to move select threads to their new homes and hope to have the programming necessary for such by month's end. I hope you can appreciate that as this board gets bigger (it's already one of the largest on the Internet) that each change we make becomes more difficult. But we are devoted to making this your frequent flyer community on the Internet and will continue to enhance your benefits.

Again, we will be moving select threads to new homes in the weeks ahead. We'll probably start with the Party in Paradise thread and move it to FT Community and then we'll move the many MCI/bonus miles threads to the new "phone" forum, etc. When we do so, we'll keep a thread of the same name in the old area with a transfer message and then close it off.
