It seems fitting and proper that as my 20th year anniversary rolls around I’m heading off to Honolulu for a weekend party, reminiscent of Party in Paradise, the reason why I joined Flyertalk in the first place. Funny how a zany lark can be life-changing: what a ride! The ratio of helpful strangers and likable new acquaintances on Flyertalk might only be exceeded in scuba diving where one’s life can depend on a new scuba buddy’s underwater partnership.

If I manage to keep my fingers off the keyboard, I will hit 20 years—about 7304 days—with about 7304 posts, one per day. I’ll count this one post towards my next 20 years, if nobody minds. In retrospect, maybe my handle should have been Goldilocks: less than one post per day, too cold; more than one post per day, too hot; one per day, just right. If not Goldilocks, Anal-Retentive-Guy? In retrospect, if I knew that I was going to be around and active for 20 years I probably would have picked a different FT name: In retrospect, is your FT name a mistake?

It's been 15 years for me. Wow! I consider some FlyerTalkers close friends.

Celebrating a big birthday in London in a couple weeks and about half of the 40 or so folks who will be there I met either directly or indirectly through FT.

Happy FT anniversary. Not quite 20 for me as I started in 2001. Your post caused me to wonder what my own first post. I found it quite amusing. Novice wants to try and use UAL miles on Ansett.

Funny to me because I never use UAL for anything anymore. I don't have a single UAL mile. Secondly because I had completely forgotten all about Ansett.

Time flys when you do.

Thank you, yes. I'm good. How about you?

That was a fun evening, wasn't it? It's good to see some familiar faces still on the forum.

I am not at 20 years just yet; but I am getting close.

Today is 17 years since I joined FlyerTalk; and this is where I posted content for the first time.

Careful now - don't forget that you may have been telling her you were on FT when you were actually browsing ... yes, those news sites for hours on end.

I don't come around these parts much anymore but I saw this thread and had to say hello. It has been over 20 years for my screen name.
