Post Official Do Hotel - negotiated Corporate Rate / List of Atendees & Interested FTers

For this years Event, I have arranged a special "Corporate Rate" at what I think is the Best Small Luxury Hotel in Buenos Aires, the 1828 Smart Hotel. This hotel is an Oasis of Luxury and Attention to Detail, I know the Management well, they are super professional, and I have been sending my Wine Clients with great experiences/reviews so far. They are extending this special Corporate Rate to Do participants, please PM or email me for details on how to book this.

Cow Do - Preliminary Schedule of Events

Friday August 31st

1230 - Early Bird Lunch
Venue: SottoVoce Libertador
Av. Libertador 1098 - (cross street Ayacucho)
www.sottovoce.com.ar
This has become the traditional first meal for those at arrive early on Friday (or before). SottoVoce is one of my favorite Italian-inspired restaurants. The LIbertador location is by far the less touristy, especially compared to the Puerto Madero location.

2030 - Dinner
Venue: El Pobre Luis
Arribenios 2393 - (cross street Blanco Encalada)
https://www.tripadvisor.com.ar/Resta..._District.html
First Evening of "Dead Cow" at one of the typical Buenos Aires Parrillas (loosely translates to SteakHouse, not that there is such a thing in Buenos Aires). Dont worry if someone is Vegetarian as the menu here will also accomodate those that prefer to go with something non-meaty....

Saturday, Sep. 1st

1230 - First Charity Wine Tasting
Requested Donation of AR$1700 (Pesos) per person - cash would be appreciated
Venue: 1828 Smart Hotel
Oro 1828 - (cross street Costa Rica)
1828 Smart Hotel

1430 - Saturday Lunch
Venue: El Sanjuanino
Posadas 1515 - (cross Street Av. Callao)
El Sanjuanino. Sitio oficial de las empanadas más ricas en BA.
One of the most traditional Empanadas "places" in Buenos Aires. Empanadas are a staple of Argentine "comfort food" (whatever that is). After the Wine Tasting event, folks tend to want to have a small lunch so I thought that a quick couple of empanadas at this place would hit the spot. For those wanting more than just Empanadas, they have a full menu with various other options.

2030 - Saturday Dinner
Venue: La Cabrera Norte
Cabrera 5127
www.lacabrera.com.ar
Second night of Dead Cow. Hopefully you didnt "load up" on tooo many Empanadas at lunch and have enough room for a big dinner. Again, there will be more than just red meat on the menu including the odd past and fish option(s) for those that want to go out on "left field"....

Sunday, September 2nd

Free Day. Some traditional activities during Sunday include Day Trips to Colonia (Uruguay), Carmelo (Uruguay) or El Tigre (just north of Buenos Aires), or the San Telmo Market which has its most important day on Sundays..

Monday, September 3nd

1130 - Second Charity Wine Tasting
Requested Donation of AR$1700 (Pesos) per person - cash would be appreciated
Venue: 1828 Smart Hotel
Oro 1828 - (cross street Costa Rica)
1828 Smart Hotel

1430 - Farewell Lunch
Venue: Somos Asado
Scalabrini Ortiz 651 - Villa Crespo
AR$2100 (Pesos) per person - CASH ONLY
https://www.facebook.com/SomosAsado/

Dry Aged Beef Experience - set menu with wines included. Please see details of this event in the dedicated post on this thread.

Thanks to everybody for posting your initial interest. We will be having one main wine related event, with a very strong possibility of a 2nd event - depending on how many people are interested in joining.

Excellent !!! First 3 confirmed participants !!!! Please post your flight arrival/departure details when you can. Regarding accomodations, its also nice to know where everybody is staying as this helps with planning of logistics, Taxi-shares, and other group activities.

For those that are considering staying at non-chain hotels, I will have some more information in a few days, trying to work with a small luxury boutique hotel to see if they will extend a special Cow Do discount to those that book.... please stay tuned for more details shortly.
