The rumors are true... Japadog does exist at YVR.

It's downstairs next to the US arrivals exit enroute to the train.

Outside- they have a tent.https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...68feb3144f.jpg

I think the Wall of Wine can use this

The poutine is surprisingly good. Though the price discrepancies are insulting, unfortunately the Canadians should be used to that :p I mean the chix salad is $3.99 in the US. But if they have the real polish dog that makes it really worth the $1.50 plus the cat piss Pepsi product drink that comes gratis.

Last time I went to a Costco up there it confused the crap out of the cashier when I handed my Citi Costco visa as a membership card, especially since they don't take Visa up there.

The Polish dog did not taste the same... dang Canadian recipe I guess. Diet Pepsi also tasted weird. It had some caffeine I think...
Gravy was my favourite part of the fry creation.

Made it onto AS735- had a nice ATC delay in YVR due to SEA traffic...plus a "tour" of the grounds of YVR taxiing for a while. Has been a great weekend, but happy to be halfway home. For a day :p

for those who weren’t on the walking tours, Vancouver has a very large presence
in the movie industry ... the art deco Marine Building — which (per Ali, our
remarkably engaging and knowledgeable guide) when it opened in 1930 was the
tallest building not only in Vancouver but the entire British Empire — is one of the
most frequently included venues

I’m not sure we actually discovered what was being filmed on Sunday, but the New York City taxis and the snow were certainly eye-catching

That's for sure. Even cities like Winnipeg (my hometown) are often cast because the buildings and era are similar to other cities. Winnipeg has been the filming location for multiple Chicago set films due to similarities.

And no I'm not now or ever volunteering to lead a YWG-DO. That sounds painfully boring just typing it out.

Thanks all for a very enjoyable time. And thanks to @nomadic.relief for herding the cats.

Told ya.

It would have been a long walk from the Alibi Room but glad you made it. Looks like you even ordered what I suggested. Nice!

But you are now a Japadog insider - don't spread the word anyone not worthy.

There is only one fixed location in the US now (there's also a roaming stand in LA), and it's down in Santa Monica. There was one in New York, but it closed a few years ago.

nomadic.relief, thank you so much for organizing a fabulous weekend. I learned so much about Vancouver and made some new FT friends! ^

See you in SIN. :)

Thanks to nomadic.relief for organizing! It was great to meet new people and see those I'd met before. The weekend was a nice introduction to Vancouver as well - hopefully I'll make it back for a longer visit sometime.

Sunday’s Downtown/Waterfront walk started a little wet but it was informative as well as entertaining. Thanks nomadic.relief for finding such an excellent guide.

After the end of the morning walk nomadic.relief led a group of us on an impromptu walk along the Seawall which eventually ended up on English Bay Beach and back to Waterftont with a stop for lunch at Izakaya Kingyo and gelato at Bella Gelateria.

Looks like an awesome time was had by all despite the weather. Wish I could have made it, there were people I wanted to meet and to see again :) next time!
