no. you need to clear customs like in the states.
assuming you do arrive at 1440 not in F (F has fast track), you shall be thru customs by 1600. get to the ANA terminal at 1620. you'll be fine. and still have approx 1 hour slack. domestically in japan you needn't check in more than 30 mins before flight. (20 for domestic)

Oops sorry, I’ve been having CouchSurfing guests and also away for a few days to Hong Kong and then a crazy trip around China (took all 3 major airlines in one day and also went to the Boeing factory in Beijing), so I haven’t been catching up here. I was thinking of making the list look a bit more polished before posting it, but I guess I’ll just post it as it is.
To-eat list:
Taco rice タコライス (taco ingredients on top of rice)
Okinawa soba 沖縄そば , soki soba ソーキそば (local Okinawa noodles usually topped with pork)
Goya chanpuru ゴーヤーチャンプルー (bitter gourd stir fried with ingredients, usually egg and shimatofu)
Rafute ラフティー (pork belly stewed in soy sauce and brown sugar)
(Okinawa donuts)
Buku-buku tea ぶくぶく茶 (tea with bubble foam)
Ishigaki beef
Agu pork
Mozuku seaweed もずく
Shimatofu
(Okinawa fried rice)
Sukugarasu スクガラス (small pickled fish usually pressed onto tofu)
Hirayachi ヒラヤーチー (thin savoury pancake similar to okonomiyaki)
Blue Seal Okinawa ice cream (I only listed the flavours I wanted to try): passion fruit sorbet, Ryukyu royal milk tea, Blue Wave (soda sherbet+pineapple ice cream), shiiquasa sherbet, ube, Beni-imo, sugarcane, Okinawa salt cookies, Okinawa Ta-imo cheesecake
I’ll start a new post for the restaurant list, apologies in advance the formatting is terrible and I don’t know how to make it better on FlyerTalk - it looks fine on my iPad!

Sorry, I don’t know why some of the URLs came out all mangled! But if you click on them I think they still work ok?
May I suggest to the organisers that we could maybe book one or two of these for our DO dinners? Urizun, Matsumoto, Roins and Ryukyu Mie would be the most likely options for reservations. The last one is actually apparently right next door to where I’m staying, and it’s the top restaurant on Tabelog, but it’s pretty pricey (about 10-20k JPY each) as it’s something similar to a kaiseki place. I’m not sure which or any of the restaurants in my list have English menus or English-speaking staff, it doesn’t bother me since the lack of such probably means a less touristy place.
P.S. I forgot to add Jef fast-food to that list. They have 3 or 4 outlets throughout the main island, and the interesting thing on their menu is Goya burgers.

I also have a list of sightseeing places and possible itineraries, if others are interested I can also post those. Do be warned that it’s obviously personally biased and I haven’t included places that I’m not interested in visiting (this list was meant only as my personal research), or those that can’t be reached by public transport (neither me nor my +1 can drive).

A small request for a review of the Doubletree Shuri Castle, if anyone is staying there. I have family on the island, and would like to go back soon.
I hope you all enjoy yourselves!

You did! Submit your leave and I'll approve yours (with the provisor that you are joining this Do!)
BTW, managed to get QFF redemption for the JL flight to OKA, 14K points + $3.50 fee (Cheapest fee ever for QFF I think!). No reason for you to not join now....still plenty of seats...
