It was a couple years ago that we had a Flyertalker dinner at Homestyle Taste. There are a couple Flyertalkers who will be in the Chicago area on Saturday September 23, they are gracious hosts from NYC that plan many a Do there so hoping we can reciprocate and show them some Chicago love.

When I last went to Homestyle, I had some DELICIOUS food such as dried beef stir fried w/LOTS of chilies, or dry stir fried lamb w/cumin, chili marinated cabbage, smoked pork roll which essentially was a scallion pancake w/smoked pork as a filling. If these dishes sound appealing to you, please come out and join me for a lunch at Homestyle Taste.

Homestyle Taste is a BYOB (bring your own booze) place so if you like to keep your bar bill cheap, BYOB is a great way to do it.

I expect to be around that weekend so count me in. I want to add that this restaurant is great opportunity to taste Chinese food that is not Mandarin or Szechuan.

Sorry to say, I have to miss this one as well. I will be in Asia.

I remember the restaurant from the last DO (a couple years ago). Great place with interesting food.

Enjoy. One of these days the calendar will line back up for some Chicago fun.

Nice to have a Chicago meet up on the weekend finally! If I'm not traveling I'll come down from Milwaukee. I should know in a couple of weeks.

I will be in Yokohama, Japan on 23 September; attending the Blue Note Jazz Festival - with headliner Donald Fagen & the Nightflyers.
The concert should be intriguing contemplating that Walter Becker passed away today. Donald has been playing a number of Steely Dan songs on this tour so far.
