I am seeing LATAM fares from MIA to GIG for sub $1200 dollars. Books into I class for excellent earning on Alaska and AA.

Remember that Brazil requires a visa ($160 reciprocity fee plus visa service agency costs plus hassle) for USA and many other nationalities. The good news is that IIRC it's a ten year visa.

Yes. I recall getting my Brazil visa as very annoying. I did it in person and the hours of operation were very narrow. Unfortunately, my visa is expired (I believe it was a 5 year), but i have been wanting to return to GIG and now may be the time.
