RDU - RTP/Chapel Hill/Durham/Morrisville NC - Lunch on Friday, September 1, 2017

ORIGINAL POST:
I know most good FTers are spending the Friday of a holiday weekend starting a long miles-filled getaway. I will have gotten into the Triangle the night before, and am spending Friday in town before doing some kind of driving excursion on Saturday.

But if anybody is free for lunch or beverages on Friday afternoon, I'd be up for meeting some local FTers who frequent RDU. I am staying in the I-40 hotel wonderland between 540 and 147, so I can do pretty much anything between 440 and 15-501 depending on where people are located.

Thoughts or suggestions?

EDITED TO ADD:
Time: 12:30pm
Location: Capital City Chop House, 151 Airgate Dr, Morrisville, NC 27560

Attending: ElmhurstNick, CMK10, lmsalman, Delta66

I have a 2:49 PM Flight from RDU that day so I would actually really enjoy having lunch around the airport. There are some decent options in the hotel wonderland as you describe it.

Sounds good. Figure noon?

I'm pretty open on cuisine except for disliking SE Asian (peanut allergy) and sushi.

I do have a case out in a rural county that morning about three hours from RDU so perhaps closer to 12:30-1 depending on when I'm done in court and can drive back towards Raleigh.

If you don't mind a third person joining, as of now I'll actually be in my office in RTP that day. Would be nice to put some faces to names.

Put me down as a tentative as well. We've got a flight out around 6pm but if I head to the office (in RTP) that day I should be able to join.

Any suggestions on restaurants? Most of my places on my "try this" list are a bit too far out of the way. The only things on my list in this area are a place called Gussy's (pseudo-Greek) on Miami and a place called Aztira (Indian) in RTP, but I can't vouch for either one.

The Page Road Grill is pretty good as is the Capital City Chophouse. Both are very close to RDU and the RTP.

The Chophouse is on the same block as the Hyatt Place, right?

Both good suggestions here. I've also been to Azitra, one of ElmhurstNick's suggestions, it's good but was nothing worth going out of the way for.
