We also will bring an American Paper Optics 10-pack.

It does look to me that there will be plenty of them to go around.

So if this is a place that all want to go, we all need to confirm ASAP.
Update, I've made a reservation for 12 people at 7:45pm at Q39 BBQ.

I'll update the 1st post to reflect venue & time

I'll be on my way to KC tomorrow. I will have pretty much all day Wednesday to see the city before I pick up ClaudiaSTR at around 10pm on Wed.

I will probably go and try one of the BBQ places for a late lunch on Wednesday.

Time is perfect, location looks good.

I will bring along 5 pair of secure glasses - I already bought them via amazon.de and had it delivered to my hometown in Germany.
4 secure glasses could be give away.

I also have spare viewing glasses. With the warnings that went out, I reordered and have 5 or so spare glasses marked ISO and American Paper Optics.
But the warnings also said some counterfeits were marked that way as well. Amazon also and not from the cheapest seller so I hope are real.

Awesome.

I procrastinated (as always) and didn't buy them. I'm only asking for one pair

You are telling us that eclipse glasses are not available at Costco?
But don't worry, I've got as many as you need.

We should have some extras as well. I ordered 10 Thousand Oaks glasses awhile back, and one of my wife's coworkers ordered 50 more from one of the AAS recommended distributors last week (20 of them for us). He'll be here and my guess is he'll bring all 50 pairs with him.

I also have some extra solar film if anyone wants to bring a camera. I cut out some 62mm sizes to sandwich between an adapter ring and a UV filter and tested it yesterday... works great! I've got enough for 2-3 more lenses depending on their size.

Weather in St. Clair and Carbondale is tentative...mostly sunny in the morning and then "chance of thunderstorms after 1pm." STJ looks much better (mostly sunny the whole day).

Depending on if that T-storm arrival time moves back or not, I may yet still make it to MCI...

Bob and I have 2 pairs between us. BYOEG.

Rich, is everyone coming to your house bringing some food? Is there something specific you will be lacking that I can make?

Cool

I'll have a chance to see another partial eclipse next February 15 from the deck of the Emerald Princess on a Cape Horn cruise. There is one passing over Chile that day.

LOL... you're still "Up in the Air"

I looked at the wx a few days ago... looked overcast, but must be improving. PNW looked nice.

WE ARE FULL for dinner on Sunday night.

I called to verify the reservation and the restaurant has no notes of my earlier call the evening of Aug 8 booking a table of 12.

The 10 that have committed to dinner are all set, see post #1 for attendee list, we will be seated at their high top table (the chairs have seat backs to them).
