On my way now. AUS-LAX flight landed early, then waited on the tarmac for 30 minutes for the gate to become available - the joys of LAX. After parking at the gate, it took another 20 minutes for the operator to figure out how to position the jetway. So we finally deplaned 35 minutes late. I'm now in the Flagship Lounge waiting for AA 73 to SYD. Looking forward to the 787-9 business seat:

Just giving everyone the 24 hour reminder about dinner/drinks in Brisbane tomorrow night. (Thursday for those that have crossed international date lines)

Mick O'Malleys Irish Pub
Wintergarden, Queen St Mall
Under BNE Hilton.
itsalongwaydown and co went there a few Saturday nights ago and it wasn't the best, the times I have been there mid week, no ID was required, I might have to ring them tomorrow and ask.
I note that some of you have started your travels to Australia, some have even made it, FB has lit up with photos of peoples travels.

We're all checked in at the RACV Noosa Resort, after driving up from BNE and surviving all those clockwise roundabouts.
If anybody's up for dinner tomorrow, you know where to find us.

It took some careful negotiation, and bringing up the Oneworld website on lounge policy but we made it into the MEL F lounge for my QF151 outbound. Was even able to book a spa treatment for the 30th as I don't have tele access here.
Glad things are firming up for everyone.

Enjoying my time in Brisbane. Managed to stay awake until 8:30 Wednesday night and then got a solid 9 hours of sleep, so ready to explore some more today. Coming up on 8am Thursday morning here.
My photo gallery for this trip is on-line now with 88 photos so far covering the trip from SFO and the first day in Brisbane. Will update daily.
edited to add: too many photos so have changed this gallery to only Brisbane - will start a new Noosa gallery once there and post a new link for that

ALAS a change in plans which saw me traveling through Chile and Argentina has thoroughly used the travel budget. Enjoy the weekend guys and girls.
I will be (hopefully) recovering from jet lag about the time the events in QLD end.
Happy wandering
Fred

Glad to see everyone seems to be heading in the right direction and will arrive at about the right time.
This year will require people to use their memories as due to a 'glitch' we won't have the name tags sorted in time.
