May I suggest the Dornfelder at the very end of the reds, just before the dessert/ports? I defer to Dan's mastermind plan, but the Dornfelder is a tad sweet and likely a good segue from the great cabs into dessert…

You may find the Rockford Shiraz VP to be a fortified wine ...

We have the room between 6:30 and 10:00. That's 1830 - 2200 for those that care.

North Square
103 Waverly Place. This is the equivalent of West 7th street (between 5th / 6th ave).
(212) 254-1200

The entrance to the private room is through the cozy hotel lobby.

It's just diagionally across the street from the northwest corner of Washington Square Park in the Village (Greenwich Village). There is free street parking.

Dress code > casual.

Coffee/soda is included. We've already paid for everything. If you have to cancel, let me know. Waitlisters are happy to take your place.

Anything else?

There hasn't been any movement on the list. Everyone is coming. (poo-poo).

Due to an unforeseen issue (nothing serious), I would like to give up my spot to the next person(s) on the waitlist.
I realize that this is very last minute, but I know I won't be able to truly enjoy & appreciate the evening this time around.
Please post here & let @dhammer53 know.

I'll be sending a PM shortly to owlwoman, who just cleared. I'd ask you all to stand by.

Can you also send a PM to your peeps in the weather department? They need to fix the forecast high of 93 on Sunday. We are delicate folks traveling to NYC, and 70 (the projected low) is what we have on a lovely summer day as the high.

Yeah, I'd hoped for warm weather but not quite hot and 100 F. At least Sat. for BRT looks fine.

I'm still planning on drinking the Spatlese with the apps--it'll go nicely with your Asian-influenced choices. You're welcome to save your taste until dessert.

The beauty of this hobby is that we can drink any wine in any order.

I hope there's some left for me.

But much testing has proven to many of us that the ideal wines to go with Asian style food are the Rieslings of the sort that Calcifer is bringing.

@monitor - Don't you mean to say "But much testing has proven to many of us that the ideal person to go with Riesling-style food is the Asian of the sort that Calcifer is bringing"?
