Thanks for the advice. I just bought an Opal at the airport. Sign said they take Amex, too.

I'm going out for a walk now, to find an ATM, see a bit of the city. Should be back in my room well before dinner time. I'll PM you my room number plus my full real name in case you end up asking the desk to connect you. Only possible problem is that I've slept about three hours since Tuesday morning and may not last that long without conking out. If you call before dinner, though, I won't mind.

In SFO waiting to board flight to SYD. AUS-SFO was delayed by nearly 2 hours. Fortunately I originally had 3 hours connection in SFO so no missed connection.

Someone has scored a pretty nice Darling Harbour view room.



For those meeting me in the morning, the hotel faces Sussex Street, between King and Market, and is best accessed from there.
