SFO/OAK/SJC Bay Area Meetup/Happy Hour
Thought we could try to sustain an ongoing meetup thread similar to the DC Area one, but for SFBA.
To kick things off, PV_Premier and I are planning on meeting for drinks at 83 Proof around 6pm on Monday 8/29:

The DC group is a great group and have a dinner about every 6-8 weeks. Keep posting opportunities and I will see if I can visit during one of my trips out there.

I would be interested in meeting up at places that offer food rather than only alcohol. Also, preferably not too noisy to hear the conversation.
In years past, there used to be dinner get-togethers in the Bay Area (especially SF). A few were organized by me. Maybe some of us should revive the tradition.

Pick a date and a place and see who's willing to show up!

it was a good time and i would be open to participating in further meetups. for me to get into the bay area though, i probably need a minimum of 2-3 weeks notice and it would have to be on a weekend.

Some random ideas:
Would people be interested in, say, dim sum in Millbrae? Technically near a BART station and convenient to Caltrain too.
(aside: is the SJ DTF still a mob scene?)
//
occasionally on Fridays I can be found at http://devilscanyon.com/organizer/fo...friday-events/
I'm also sometimes in Mountain View on Wednesday early evenings, lots of stuff on Castro St. and nearby blocks.

I'd also be interested in participating, although I am more of an eater than a drinker. Able to come anywhere from SF to Sunnyvale, but not the East Bay. Totally up for dim sum.
