I got a HND-GMP flight on OZ at midday (OZ1075 1220-1440), several other options were available too, thought this timing was optimal. Business Saver flights available if you're a *A person.

I'm definitely interested, but won't be able to commit until this autumn at the very earliest; I need to have a better idea of what my calendar will look like for 2017 first.

Interested! As I intend to start my RTW from TYO or ICN next year, that could be perfect!

I'm struggling to see how I (we) can make this. Arrive back in Sydney from Vienna on Wed 5th April and then off to Toronto on 18th April...to my many dear friends that we have met at previous Japan DOs, we may have to declare that we are bronze and are unable to make JD5...and no we can't fly to Toronto from Tokyo / Seoul as that would be the obvious workaround

Please put me down as interested. I've never spent more than a night in either Japan or Korea.

UPDATE: I will arrive at NRT ~4pm on Saturday the 15th, too late for the Japan Do...darn expiring ANA miles and no earlier seat availability!

Of course you can, there are several options via YVR and YYC if you want to avoid pesky US customs.

I was messing around with award tickets last night. I'm currently booked to arrive in PEK the morning before the DO so I may head over as long as things don't change between now and then

Flights booked! As I'll only be arriving at 8pm on the Thursday, I'll miss the welcome drinks, but I'm in for the rest - including Korea!

Thanks for the *A tip kirkwood - I was able to splice that in (had forgotten about same city pairings)!

You're welcome, and I'm sure you'll enlighten us slavish FTers as to the exotic route from South Africa!
