UUUgggg!! I have another trip planed pre-do AND I already have a flight to SIN from the US. Post Do time is wide open :mad:
Would love to do do Laos, so I will have to see what is possible in changes.

This could work as long as there's private transport and/or cabs. The public bus takes too long to get out of the airport to Georgetown.

Just stay in Georgetown for the day, check out a museum, have a look at some murals, wonder through the heritage listed streets, and eat - a lot. Might be able to fit in a late breakfast, late lunch, plus an early dinner (especially if you are willing to take LCCs).

Uber works like a charm at PEN.

Anything further on this? Don't want to seem impatient but UA is on to me that I'm holding duplicate reward tickets for 2 consecutive days and wants me to cancel one. :eek:

Itinerary and hotels for Luang Prabang would help me decide when to travel.

Edited on September 12 to add: Attendance is looking more likely now that my work schedule has settled down for the next several months. I'll probably skip Laos, although I am very interested in Penang!

Do you already have I tentative schedule for the do and/or pre-do already.

I am quite interested.
It would be my first flyertalk do and my first time in SIN and Laos.

My attendance now confirmed. In on 12/1, out on 19/1, just the DO, no pre/post. Wiki thing updated to reflect this. :)

I wish I knew what all the excitement was about...longest running DO and all :) Found out about this via a different thread on the United forum and the person I pm'd was nice enough to reply to me and link to here.

Since I just moved to SIN and will still be living there next year please put me down as a definite for the DO. I'm not sure I'll be in for the pre-DO as much as I want to go Laos; I'll have just returned from the US for the holidays so getting more time off so quickly may not be in the cards.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about the DO. If anyone doesn't mind PM'ing me and giving me an idea of what to expect or what has happened during the past DOs I'd appreciate it.

Has anyone booked flights to Laos yet? I'm trying to decide whether I should go ahead, or go somewhere else. Would like to know how much to budget for a hotel as well.
