if you have Twinkle's name...
Just got the call from the vet. Twinkle is in kidney failure, and first stage treatment is a very strictly controlled diet. If you have his name for Santa Paws, he's appreciate toy mice, but all treats are now off limits :( as we're starting on him treatment this afternoon. Looking to strike a balance for him on care and quality of life.

Best wishes and a healthy recovery/treatment for Twinkle!

Tigger got a package today. She is excited as to what's in it but I told her she has to wait until Christmas Eve night to open her gifts, as is tradition in my household.
I hope she understands. She thanks her Santa Paws friend for her gifts in advance. I'll post photos on Dec 24. |

Update on Twinkle
Many thanks to those who sent positive thoughts for Twinkle. He started treatment last Friday for kidney failure, and within a few hours was feeling noticeably better. That unfortunately lasted about 48 hours, but we saw the same upswing after Monday's therapy. From here on he'll be getting infusions at home (wish me luck!) as the trip to the vet stresses him. But it looks as if his condition is highly treatable and he may be a happy cat for years to come. :D

Gifts received!
Washington and Twinkle received a huge box today with deluxe scratchers from their very generous Santa, lb8001. Twinkle adores scratchers! Being a Very Good Cat, he uses them instead of sharpening his claws on the furniture. Washington enjoys sleeping on anything that resembles a feline sized lounger, so it's a good thing there were 2 in the box. ;) However presents must wait for Christmas, so Washington hopped in the box, one of his absolute favorite things, and made it his own. Pictures to follow.

So glad Washington and Twinkle got their scratchers. More to come but luckily no treats were sent - we are sending very positive thoughts out to Twinkle. Bean, one of Twinkle's Santas, is also working through kidney issues but changing diet has helped a lot. At 17, she still parties like a youngster now;)

Bean & Sox Thank Their Santas!
Beanie and Sox are SO delighted with the toys they got today! We don't wait to unwrap gifts around here so they are already playing. But we're unsure exactly who their Secret Santa is, so could that person please identify her/himself. They love all the kinds of toys you sent - thank you so much!

Sophia and Jax received their presents today, they love them! The kitties say thank you to Winnie and Tigger!
