No new info on this, but bumping so new folks can see it.

Cash reservations for the 4 Points in LEX are now $149 plus tax. If available on points (3K-4K per night), lock it down now. You can always cancel.

Just checked and there are points redemptions still available. 3000-4000 SPG per night instead of $169 all-in.

Thankfully the hot browns I've had (Brown Hotel & Ramsey's) did NOT have velveeta, ugh.

As bad as Philadelphia cheesesteaks coming with CheezWhiz.:td:

By far the best hot brown I have had in LEX was at The Merrick Inn:

https://www.themerrickinn.com/

While it's a fairly upscale place (note that they have ALL of the expressions of Pappy Van Winkle available), the hot brown is amazing. I'd suggest that we kick things off for this DO with hot browns and fine bourbon at The Merrick Inn (the more casual outdoor patio seating is great if the weather is nice).

Also for those looking for other things to do, or for an addition to the semi-official DO itinerary, a tour of Old Friends Farm (a thoroughbred retirement home) in Georgetown is a lot of fun.

http://www.oldfriendsequine.org/

The tour there does take over 2 hours but it is a great way to meet some retired superstars of the sport of kings. You get to feed carrots to Derby and Preakness winner Silver Charm, among many others. Highly recommended.

Bumping this for some extra visibility.

Been trying to make it to one of these for two years now. I don't have anything scheduled that weekend, so I'll try to finally make it.

OK, look forward to seeing you.

Just checked availability/pricing again.

$149 plus tax prepaid/non-refundable but still 3000/4000 a night for SPG points. A very good redemption.

I think this is a good idea. Something new.

So Thursday or Friday eve, I think. Will put in OP.

What sort of tickets do you all usually buy for Keenesland? I see they went on sale this week. If buying reserved seats, is it better to send someone money and have them order a group of tickets together? I also have no objection to the $5 General Admission tickets.

I'm currently booked for Fri and Sat nights, but I won't be able to make it until at least 8 Friday night so might just get up early Sat morning and drive down to meet y'all at the Icelandic horse farm.

Of late we have just been getting $5 admission and not reserved seats.

A quick bump to remind myself to book a room at the 4 Points.

I can understand, I thought I had booked awhile back but a bump of this thread reminded me to check to see if I did, thankfully the 3k redemption was still avail.

I am tentatively booked at the airport Fairfield Inn for Saturday night.

I need Marriott nights, but the Fairfield next door to the 4 points will not allow just a Saturday night stay.
I will keep checking to see if they open up or keep to a 2 night minimum.

I should be able to get down to Lexington for the 1pm-ish Keeneland visit on Saturday and subsequent activities.

Keeping my fingers crossed that work doesn't interfere with my 3rd attempt at this DO!
