Thanks, I'm looking forward to meeting all, my first DO, first horse track, first bourbon tour! This was always on my bucket list and my wife is more excited than me.

To the organizers, If their is anything I can do to help financial or time, please ask.

We'll are flying into Louisville at 10am 4/4, if anyone needs a ride we're more than willing to let you jump in with us, just make sure you land before us.

you picked a fine track to be your first, Keeneland is one of the premier tracks, especially in terms of it's beauty, looks more like a country club.

Anyone been to Great Bagel in Lexington?

www.eatgreatbagel.com

They have a delicious sounding bagel sandwich, the BMB for $5.79
grilled pork meatballs with scallions, pickled carrots and daikon, sriracha mayo, jalapeño and cilantro on an egg bagel

just wiped the drool off of my keyboard.

Also have read about some food trucks in Lexington, (that they exist) but have little info beyond that.

The Bourbon Do sounds terrific with a fun group of folks. Visiting Kentucky horse and bourbon country has been on my bucket list and I can't think of a better group to enjoy this with.

Please count myself and +1.

Just wondering how early does the DO start? I'm flying from the west coast and flights tend to get in on the late side. Looks like there was a visit to a horse farm last year on Friday afternoon. So I'm thinking about flying in the day before (Thursday). What do the organizers think would be best for this DO? Thanks!

I would expect that there will be a horse farm or two visit on Friday afternoon. If that is something you really want to do, then arriving on Thurs is the best way.

Otherwise as with most any multi day Do, one can make all the activities or pick which ones they want to participate in.

I think you should come the day before. It's a long trip and if you get delayed Fri. you might miss a good bit of the proceedings. There is plenty to do if you have to wait for the rest of us: check the Youtube channel. There is a NY Times article on the nascent "KY Donut Trail." Also historic sites like Shakertown, Mary Todd Lincoln home, and Ashland (Henry Clay's home). And some very picturesque historic neighborhoods to wander downtown.

Last time iris30 and her friend came a couple days before and hiked in a state park. The park system in KY is one of the best in the country.

Sat. is quite full and I think mile ho had to get the horse farm tour Friday last time so as not to interfere.
