My thoughts are with his family. I never met him in person, but always respected his knowledge and posts about seemingly everything. His conveyed a wise, gentle, caring person and he will truly be missed by the FT community at large.

Same here. His photo on that link portrays him as a very warm and friendly man.

Gawd I hate these threads when FT'ers pass

I also didn't know Mike other than his posts; He was a Long time contributer to this community and he will be missed.

I hope those meteors are all lined up to take you on a non-stop up front to the heavens.

Condolences to the Mrs and the rest of the family as well, I'm truly sad for your loss

Very sorry to hear this - I think we may have met at a do, but if so, it was only briefly. However, I've read and enjoyed his posts for many years now

I'm so sad to hear this. I met him eons ago at a PBI do and he just really stuck out to me since he always posted helpful posts and never got involved in personal attacks regardless of the thread and how it devolved.
I was a secret santa to him a couple years ago and I really enjoyed shopping for him.

I wish Anna the best.

Condolences to his family.
He was a major contributor to FT, knowledgeable across so many areas and topics. I was always glad to see that he posted, because he had such expertise in so many fields. Wonderful wit too. One of the best.

I really hope you do as you meet some great folks with similiar travel interests and learn a little more about the person behind the online persona and user name. That's how I met Mike at a Wine Do in NYC in '11 and enjoyed the brief encounter.

It is sad to lose such a vital member of the community but I guess what we should be thankful for is that we were able to enjoy his active participation and willingness to share for years and we are so much richer for his choosing to do so.

I never met Mike, but he helped me and so many others on FT with his concise, friendly, and always right to the point replies. He was truly an asset to the FT community in so many ways.

Rest In Peace, Mike, you will be very much missed. Sincere condolences to his family.
