For those attending the inaugural IAH-ORD flight, how early will you be arriving for that flight? I imagine UA will have stuff set-up in the gate area for the launch flight, although I've yet to hear of their specific kick-off day plans.

I am sure they will have stuff set up, but I don't think we will hear plans for a few weeks (as they work to certify the aircraft). I bet we will go out of E, and the 787 flight to EWR will probably go out of the gate close by to have a joint party. (Like E4/E7 or E18/E20). I would love a water cannon salute and a certificate or a picture for being on the first flight! |
I booked UA1116 IAH-ORD on Nov 4 in the last minute while I used 25K miles for one way domestic ticket.

I'm in F on the inaugural IAH to ORD flight, which I had previously booked before the equipment changed. Awesome. Although flying the overnight in from south america before hand so will be tired.

I'm flying a USAIR flight ORD-->PHL-->IAH the Saturday before and then staying near the airport that night...I expected to get to the airport around 5-5:30am. I wonder if United will be contacting us with any special information since we are on the first flight? What about media? This is all happening so fast lol.

I'll be on flt 1146 (IAH-EWR) on 11/4, up front in a big seat (6E). Wifey said I was absolutly nuts for wasting miles and an entire sunday on this. Oh well!:D Here's to hoping a window opens up.

Just snagged an award ticket on 1116 on 11/4 in Y. Debating whether to take it or not.
