I have registered to attend^. Coming solo tho
but it will cost less points as don't have to fork out for +1s airfare
. Are many people arriving for drinks Thursday night? At the moment, my plan would be to arrive early Fri am (7ish), and leave late Mon night.

I'm coming solo so it makes it even cheaper

I am looking currently at HND flights and thinking of arriving 28th and leaving on 1st / 2nd.

Also a reasonable amount of award classes U, Z & X for those cheap Qantas "Any Seat Awards".

eightblack - Since you are a moderator, perhaps you may now wish to change the title to "Japan DO - March 29-31, 2013".
Edited to add: I've just registered. Are there really only 5 tickets left! Is this DO popular!

I'm amazed by the amount of interest in this DO! ^ How can I miss a DO in my native city?
I've hesitated expressing an interest until the dates are confirmed but since I'll almost certainly be in and around Tokyo over Easter I've gone ahead and registered. I'm not permanently based there but am happy to help with the language (e.g. interpreting) or anything else during or before the DO.
restlessinRNO, as far as I can see there are still 34 tickets left. You are missed in NUE, but it will be nice to see you again in Tokyo.

Although I hope to be in Tokyo during those dates, It would be selfish for me to register for a 'ticket' as I would only be able to dip in and out of events since I will be in the very small minority of JAPAN DOers who are there with the responsibility of looking after an infant child.
Please don't shut me out completely.
Anyway, it's great to see that you are conferring with the regulars on our Japanese and Japanese Airline forums. It isn't something that always happens (I'm sure mjm knows what I'm referring to)

Is everyone travelling on redemption bookings?!
Whilst pricing my flights today I found an interesting price anomaly (Of which was discussed before in various other threads).
LHR - HND - LHR is around 800
AMS - LCY // LHR - HND - LHR // LCY - AMS + Repositioning cost out of LCY or LHR to AMS is around 450!
All with BA and in whY

Not me. I'll most probably be there for a business event I attend regularly and that had happened during the two last weeks of March for the last seven years. I hope they'll keep the date for 2013 so I can travel for work and move the return flight after the Easter week-end. I'd be foolish to use an award flight
